A familiar face to many passed away last week, and her memorial service will be held on Monday in Concord.
98-year-old June Stark recently passed away two days after her birthday.
June loved working as a crossing guard, a position she held for several decades on the corner of Pennsylvania Blvd. and Pine Hollow Rd. in Concord, near Highlands Elementary and Pine Hollow Middle School.
June was also a yard duty when Highlands Elementary opened in the 1950s, and loved all the children she saw on a daily basis.
A memorial service for June will be held on Monday, July 8, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (across from Clayton Valley High School) 1360 Alberta Way, Concord.

I remember miss Stark as a noon time supervisor or “yard duty” at Highlands elementary and had the pleasure of having her safely escort my children across the street…RIP
We were fortunate to have had her as our crossing guards for a few years before that position was eliminated. RIP Ms June.
I wish we knew about the service earlier, we would have paid our respects in person.
June was my babysitter for 3 years about 56 years ago. June was a very loving , kind and caring woman. She was good to everyone. I had the honor to be at her funeral real. RIP Mrs. Stark Thank You for all you have contributed to the community.
