Our prayers and best wishes go out to folks in the accident and their families and hope everyone is okay. My house is located on the corner of Bailey and Concord Blvd and over past 30 years seen hundreds of accidents at this intersection. My perception is too many folks are in a rush, impatient, distracted and not paying attention to anyone around them. Life is too short NOT to pay more attention. Please be careful on the road!!

I don’t know who is at fault but I can guarantee you the truck was speeding.

Right! Every day. The guy tailgating me, speeding, driving like a crazy person is always in a work truck. It’s crazy.

I don’t have any idea who was at fault, won’t “Ass-u-me” who ran a light (obviously someone did).

That being said, at 1990s 4 door Ford Diesel weighs a lot.
If he had a green light, was doing the speed limit (35mph IIRC), and hit anything medium to small, it would easily have this result.

That being said, running a red at 35mph would do the same.

CPD is opening up the intersection.

I was in an accident at that intersection about 15 years ago when Concord Blvd eastbound allowed a left turn where turning vehicle yields to oncoming traffic. I was headed west, e/b car turned left (onto Bailey) in front of me, T-boned him, I was unhurt, he lived but had major injuries…felt bad for him up until he tried to blame me, but fortunately I had a witness and police report that told the truthful story. Don’t know if that was the proverbial straw, but a couple months later you could only turn left on green arrow.

Prayers for those involved and the people that helped the driver from the car. Praying for the passenger and healing. The Nissan looked like a crushed tin can…..pieces everywhere. SLOW DOWN people.

My husband witnessed this accident. He was in the 1st car on EB Bailey. The smaller car ran the red light. The truck had the right of way as their light was green (wb Bailey). He’s really worried about the passenger in the car. Praying he recovers.

@ Witness – I believe your husband and I both were first on the scene and he helped a lot! I’ve been in touch with the sister of the driver of the Nissan and she said she is released from the hospital and doing okay but has some big cuts/bruises… the passenger of the Nissan (black teenaged male) apparently is still at hospital but apparently last night was talking so that is a good sign. They are waiting for updates on him. I’m worried about head trauma as he was unconscious for such a long period. Thank your husband for his help!!

@RJ so nice to hear that he’s conscious and talking. My husband was so worried. Thank God for good samiritans!

What an ordeal! I appreciate your intervention. Heartfelt appreciation for your intervention.

Running red lights has become an epidemic.

Nobody gets in the habit of practicing good intersection approach. Always focusing on electronic devices and listening for a phone call or message. Inexperienced drivers really are challenged today. Even though we all go by posted speed limits. Everyone must practice slowing down and maintaining a safe following distance. Drive defensively and courteously. Save lives !

Old Real Steel versus Cheap Plastic of today. Cheap Plastic always loses.

How I miss my old Ford Bronco.

“Don’t bet against Old Heavy”

This was my friends sister. She is okay and a little beat up but she’s in good spirit.

Thank you so much for the update Emily! I’ve been praying and worrying about these kids, sounded awful. Is her passenger OK?

Re read my post.
I said “I don’t know who is at fault” – so stop your beaching.

BTW – My daily driver/beater is a TRUCK and my car is an awesome 100% restored 1969 muscle car which shall remain anonymous because if the lefties ever ID’ed me it would be vandalized….
Prius!…… LoL!
