About 700 PG&E customers are without power tonight in Martinez and Pacheco.

The outage was caused by turkeys who flew into electrical lines on Blum Rd.

Power is expected to be restored by 9:30 p.m.

What else do you expect from turkeys?

Sounds like, “The dog ate my homework.”

Ready to Eats, bring a container…

Are the turkeys ok? Hope they get a good lawyer.

Turkeys have become such a nuisance in CCC. How fitting that PG&E could provide a limited solution. Having PG&E service cut to 700 customers is no joke, though. Fish and game need to deal with this problem because it will probably happen again. Turkeys, wild pigs, nutria, deer are becoming bigger problems.

Was it turkeycide?

Updated time of 4am for return of power.

Contact Information In Advance of Turkey Season.

Are the birds OK?

It was Sean Connery on the beach with an umbrella.

Power has been off about 5 1/2 hours.
No sign of any crews working on Blum Rd.

Mmmm. Roast turkey.

A turkey caused a fire between the reservior and Morello Heights a few years ago causing damage to couple fences. Decks & an RV. It was scary. Last week one of the darn things wouldn’t let me near my car door at Bay Area Trainers. Just as I was about to go back into the building for reinforcements, it decided to move. It’s fun watching them but they are getting out of hand and breeding like bu nites. 😆

I once saw 47, yes 47 in one Rafter (FYI this is what a group of turkeys is called) on Mt Diablo, there were 44 females and 3 big males. Was able to count them while they moved coming out of a tree. Also seen about 20 of them up in the Eucalyptus trees in Newhall park, probably 50 feet high up in the tree. They are getting more prevalent but quite a sight to see when you get a big Rafter of them.
