State Launches Website For Residents To Donate, Sell Or Manufacture Critical Supplies

The state has launched a one-stop website to streamline donations or sales of critical supplies needed to fight the novel coronavirus outbreak, Gov. Gavin Newsom said.

The covid19supplies.ca.gov site lists 13 in-demand items, from ventilators to hand sanitizer, needed by hospitals and first responders around the state.

Individuals and companies can donate, sell or offer to manufacture the supplies, Newsom said during his daily noon briefing.

The governor said the goal was to organize what has become an overwhelming outpouring of donations in recent weeks, and also streamline offers to manufacture needed supplies.

“These actions marshal the generosity and innovative spirit of Californians to help us achieve two essential goals: getting more lifesaving supplies into our health care system and increasing our testing capacity,”
Newsom said.

In addition, Newsom on Saturday announced the creation of a testing task force that would combine public and private resources to ramp up testing for the virus across the state and increase result turnaround times.

The task force is aimed to ensure the state has sufficient capacity and supplies to administer a significantly greater number of tests, Newsom said.

Governor Gavin Newsom is far better than any other person in charge concerning this virus. I feel so relieved knowing he has many professionals to help us fight this virus. We are all in this together. I find this fascinating.
I hear from other states that they are just figuring out there is a pandemic. They do not have the technology we have, or the intelligence. I know most of you are conservative and make this a partisan issue. Please don’t. I am not picking on Trump either.

You have far too high of an opinion of Newsom. As the state’s executive, he’s a disgrace who only enforces laws he personally agrees with. He openly violated Proposition 8 while he was mayor of San Francisco. You can agree with it or not, but until the courts had their say it was the law and Newsom openly violated the law as mayor. His job is to enforce law, not break the law and virtue signal and advocate for one side. I know the Dems are grooming him for the big seat. If that ever happens, we’ll have another Obama but worse. And what kind of man sleeps with his best friend’s wife?

Other states don’t have technology? Other states are just finding out about the pandemic? And they aren’t as intelligent as Newsom? Take off your rose colored glasses! Sounds like you have a girly crush on Newsom.

At the risk of sounding in considerate, I find it annoying that the for-profit health care system wants my N95 masks that I bought in January 2019 after two years of dangerous air quality due to fires. I give those (expletive) 20% of my income each month, and they return the favor by make billing me more than I can afford anytime I try to get medical care. They are in the business of pandemics, and they have had scares from SARS, MERS, H5N1, H1N1, and others in the past twenty years. Now they want my N95s? Are they going to graciously give us N95s next time there is a fire? The presidents and boards of these organizations need to be fired before I think of giving them anything. Sorry about your dead family members, but you can return the favor to their respective cooperate or pseudo non-profit leadership who should have been prepared for at least the first month. I’ll share my N95s to anyone I come across who I think needs one. Like an older man that I know. The doctors will die due to poor planning by their leadership that robs us of treasure and them of life.
