Love me a burrito from El Farolito.

#1 La Mordida in Pleasant Hill
#2 Tacos el Patron in Pleasant Hill

El Faro for consistency. El tap or los gallios for 2nd but hit or miss.

El Aguila in Pleasant Hill.

El Fartito in Clayton used to be call Mi Fartito when they were in Concord.

La Tapatia on Lola pass road across from Park and s
Shop. Super nice family-owned place, some of the best food I’ve ever eaten.

100%

I haven’t been there in a couple of years, but El Tapatio on golf Club Rd. in Pleasant Hill has a wonderful Sunday Brunch, the chef will make you anything you want with fresh ingredients.

Sorry, I can’t pick only one. There are three I hit, all are amazing. Sorry I can’t tell you, the question was posed in single tense.

Los Panchos in Danville or Pacheco

I liked that little Taqueria on the backside of Park n Shop, Salvio / Broadway. At the crook in the road. The first was in WC. Danville may still have one on Harte. It was the first time I ordered whole beans. Their salsa was supurb!

I also liked the one on Golf Club Rd. Many years ago.

Taqueria la Soledad ?

Sorry person 1. That taqueria is long gone. Los Tacos de Panchos near BART a couple of doors down from CVS and Luigis deli on the other side on the corner was good. I heard Taqueria la Soledad was good but I haven’t tried it. It has groceries too, as I read.

Taqueria La Plaza in Sutter plaza off Sutter in Concord. Family owned, sweet couple and they made great Mexican food. Hope you will try them. This
Virus is kicking there butt. You wont be disappointed. Everything is great
there.

Tortilleria El Molino on Moument.

Bingo!!!!

They also have a location in Citrus Shopping Center in WC.

So good 😊 I’ve supported them during the pandemic a few times. I don’t eat out much, but wanted to help them out.

Las Palmas on Clayton Road. Hole in the wall, but awesome food. Best to take out.

1. El Molino in Concord
2. Tacos El Patron in Pleasant Hill

La Primavera in Martinez and El Grullense in Pacheco

Gross

Gross!!!!

Recently it’s been Taqueria Y Carniceria, in Martinez on Pacheco (next to the smog shop). Their chicken taco’s must have crack in them, they’re so addicting! Haven’t had much else there, so I have limited experience there.

For other items, I love the food and ESPECIALLY the flan at Cinco de Mayo, on Center.

I use to like Taqueria El Grullense (by Monument Car Parts), but I swear they don’t even listen to you when you order. They’re always rushing and screw up the order…

I miss CC Ole’s!
Actually, I miss having a choice of decent Mexican restaurants.

Do you sometimes make your own, Cowellian?

Not really, Silva, but we are making Baja fish tacos tonight.

I bet that was yummy!!

Los Gallos downtown at Todo Santos mostly for their Carnitas. They do them the right way with lard…..Bad for my belly but delicious.

El Charro in Lafayette on Mt. Diablo Blvd. It has been there for 71 years.

and it tastes like they have kept the food that long. That family owned has lost its luster. Terrible management!
Strong drinks is the reason most go, unless they have no tastebuds.

Once upon a time, maybe they were good.
I like the butter dip though 😝
What are the ingredients?

yep that blue cheese butter dip is great they do sell it by the pint

La Pancho Taco at the BART terminal Shopping Center in Concord, CA

Taqueria Autlan on Clayton Rd. Good priced and fast service.

Salsa Verde Cuisine in Concord….off the beaten path place but worth the trip for one of their Molcajete dishes with homemade tortillas!!!

I love el portales on thornwood dr. Great al pastor burritos. Friendly service and delicious food.

Tacos El Patron on Monument best tacos in the 925. The shrimp tacos and the brisket are top notch. If you’re feeling up to it ask for the habenero sauce.

La Tapatia

For close by, Taqueria Limon 2 in Martinez.

Also love Taqueria Morena and Los Cerros Mexican Grill, both of which are in El Sobrante.

The taco truck that sits at Waterbird Way/Waterfront Rd when going to the dump in Martinez is super tasty and has reasonable prices.

Los Panchos Pacheco!
Get the #5

:thumbsup;

I prefer #10 (half order) or a mini-super carnitas burrito & guacamole.
I think I’ll order something tomorrow :p

Beef tacos are wonderful

Remember Guadalajara out by Clayton?

Yeah me neither. They were the BEST, then they redid the restaurant, lost the cooks/servers and it was terrible after that. TRRRRR-BLE.

My favorite is El Tapatio, the one on Treat/Clayton. It might be gone. The one by DVS is just as good.

Now I live in MTZ and go to La Tapatia, Which is good too. But nothing beat El Tap.

Yeah GG was probably the biggest fall from grace of any restaurant I’ve ever seen.

Once I stopped at Guadalajara Grill for takeout. I ordered a Taco Salad. It was the heathen of Taco Salads. It takes considerable effort to screw up a Taco Salad. First, they acted like they had no idea what a Taco Salad was even though it was on the menu. I waited for it so long, they must have been growing the lettuce from scratch. Then, when I got it home it became abundantly clear they really did not have any idea what a Taco Salad was. Never went back. Worst food I had ever eaten anywhere, bar none.

El Molino is quite good.

New Mecca in Pittsburg! The real thing, not just another chain.

For artificial Mexican I like the Chipolte burrito bowl.

The old New Mecca was good the remodeled New Mecca not edible.

Couldn’t agree more; the old New Mecca was very special, great atmosphere (booths!, 75yr old mural behind the bar, old woman at the front counter), glorious bean dip, fast, friendly, delicious, reasonably priced. new New Mecca? Went once…the magic is long gone, unfortunately.

So, the Old New Mecca is no longer Old, and that was Good. The new New Mecca is New, but Not Good. Gotcha!

Another vote for El Charro in Lafayette. Close, but just outside of CoCo County is Casa Orozco in both Dublin and Livermore.

However, my wife and oldest daughter make great Mexican food and my wife is making enchiladas and taquitos right now. Can’t wait for dinner tonight!

La Fogota in Walnut Creek

Wish they would do a remodel on that place

I second La Fogata. Also, add Taqueria La Plaza in Concord. La Fogata for their chicken tacos, especially!

El Charo in Lafayette, the only Mexican restaurant in Contra Costa I’d dare chance. Have been eating there since the early 70s.

I am 68 years old and can remember eating there while sitting in a high chair. Still great after all these years. Their blue cheese butter spread is fabulous!

Taqueria Los Arcos on Clayton Road next to the McDonalds. Their ceviche tostadas and carnitas are amazing. Free chips with your order is nice, and the verde salsa in their salsa bar goes great with them.

Cinco De Mayo, Martinez
Steak Quesadilla, Favorite

Love Cinco de mayo, Martinez! FIESTA BURRITO

There are two in Martinez, and they are a little different I have found…

That said I prefer the one on Center. Their flan is just fantastic…

I miss CC ole’s.. from the days before it smelled like a toilet when you walked in.

Taqueria Los Cachanillas on Monument in Concord. I got there 3-4 times a week. Mmm, tacos. Everything else is good there, too.

I’m waiting for the new Jardín de Olivos to open up.

Same here. I miss my favorite entree, Culebra del Maiz.

I see what you guys did.😉

You’d think Olive Garden would get the message.

I have eaten several times at La Primavera in Martinez on Pine Street. I join some friends there maybe once or twice a year. It has never disappointed me.

Dulces Antojitos recently located in The Orchards in Walnut Creek. I have been there twice both very solid. They Have $1 Tacos every Tuesday. Breakfast Burritos also Solid. Cant wait to try more of the menu.

Nobody for La Pinata??? That place is decent.

New Mecca in Pittsburg by far.

Totally agree. I think as generations come and go so does the old school awesome dishes.

Celia’s in Antioch.

Taqueria Y Carniceria in Martinez
Hands down the BEST !!!
el taco mexicano más delicioso de la costa oeste – muy asequible – muy amable

El Charro is very good in spite of the nasty comment that was made by negative Aunt Barbara! Shame! The management is terrific. They are very efficient and very gracious folks. They are fabulous people.

Los Panchos for takeout, La Pinata for dining in.

Taqueria Pueblo Magico at Encina Grande on YVR and Oak Grove Rd (Whole Foods shopping center) is really great. They have added some great stuff like Pozole and do a great burrito. Highly recommend!

An EXCELLENT choice.

Los Rancheros on monument. Best breakfast burritos and salsa

El Camino Restaurant Brentwood.
