A vegetation fire is burning on E. Olivera Rd. near Willow Pass Rd. in Concord.
Use caution if you’re in the area.
UPDATE: Willow Pass is closed near the fire due to smoke.
UPDATE: The fire has been contained at 140 acres. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.

Well they’re defacing cars, attacking businesses, killing, setting fires elsewhere, it would not be out of character for these types to set a fire to draw police resources away.

A big empty lot is a great place to camp out and start a fire to keep warm when the sun goes down. It’s also out of sight of police unless the fire gets out of control

Evidently California has already contracted converted large body aircraft for fire fighting. TNKR104 McDonnell Douglas MD-87 out of McClellan in Sacramento is being used to fight fire.

Living across from fire. Saw a couple of car loads of ( protesters ) with signs pulling into Port Chicago Bart Station at the time fire started. And for the record it is very easy to get onto the Navel Weapons Station Proberty.
Mayor, please would you post again when the fire has been declared not just contained, but all the way OUT? (I’m not finding a way to access information about the status.)
This is going to be known as the year of the arsonists. We have so many people who are just sick. This weekend we have already had a number of fires. I think the state should start an arsonist patrol. More lookouts and enough manpower to cover the state. It would cost less than fighting fires and the property damage. Arsonist when caught should receive the death penalty.

Does anyone know where the ignition point of this fire was? I assumed it would have been adjacent to a roadway but in a brief search today I could only see the burned area from E. Olivera Rd and it was perhaps a quarter mile away in an easterly direction. I saw no opportunity to get closer and assumed the fire front was moving west to east.
