Question, how come the Contra Costa County Health website lists positivity rate at 4.4%?

Not challenging, just curious why the discrepancy in numbers.
I believe the 4.4 is just for CCC; whereas, the 5.3 is for the state
The county has changed the way they are reporting to align with the state and using 7 day rolling averages.
The data on the map for Contra Costa is from August 29 (5.3%). The positivity rate on the county website is from September 1 (4.4%).
Also, I’m curious about the number of new cases of 173 reported here. It is still being reported the old way. The County is now tying positive cases back to to the testing date. The number of new cases for September 1 is 127. The new cases for September 8 is incomplete and reported as 3.

@DLo – The 173 is the old Claycord way. The number of confirmed cases as a number did not change when the county’s reporting changed. Thus, Claycord’s way of reporting is still accurate and now is more relevant than the county’s report for the number of new cases yesterday.
I’m hoping Claycord goes back to the wording they used up to a week or two ago when it was “”### cases added to the total number of cases since yesterday in Contra Costa County.” Lately they have been using “### new cases of COVID-19 in Contra Costa County” while continuing to report on the number of cases added to the total since the previous day.
A few days before and over the Labor Day weekend I think someone else was posting the daily reports for Claycord as they would report the wrong number or would not do the math to subtract today’s total from yesterday’s total. That’s an unrelated issue. The normal Daily Update person seems to be back on duty at Claycord and so the math is again being done correctly.
What are the Quarterly flu, pneumonia, bronchitis stats??
Well……. in the 2017-18 winter flu season about 80,000 died & nothing was closed down…
48.8 million people got sick with flu, 22.7 million people went to a Doctor, 959,000 were hospitalized and 79,400 died of the flu.

There are effective vaccines for flu and some pneumonias, effective treatments for bronchitis band other pneumonias… not the case for Covid-19.
That should be evident to you with a minimum of thought and effort.
The part that Anonymous #2 is being dishonest about is the efficacy of flu vaccines.
Also, you never bothered with the “minimal research” to find that neither the CDC or any group is tracking those who developed flu and were vaccinated. Junk science peddled by the For Profit big pHarma.

According to the CDC, only about 10k people in the whole country (360 million) died of COVID-19 alone. The other 180,000 had other serious health problems (2.6 conditions on average)
And we shut down the whole country? And NY is saying there is no plan for restaurants to be open for indoor dining until the Spring?
Perspective is everything and while one life lost is too many, millions losing everything is unimaginable.

Ohhh, I sincerely apologize Patriot. I’ll be sure to tell all surviving family members of the 180,000 that their loved ones had something else on their medical chart before they died. That will surely cheer them up and make them forget all about their loss.
If you actually cared about anyone else, you would search for 5 seconds and find that deaths from all causes are far above normal this year, and that the people dying are not just being falsely listed as COVID as part of some massively widespread conspiracy across municipalities, states, the country, and the globe. More people are dying than normal, and screeching that “tHeY hAd A sErIoUs hEaLtH cOndItOn” is equally parts insensitive and stupid. People have health conditions that they live with. COVID is killing people with such conditions. How are you not getting this?
