Concord Police are investigating a homicide that occurred on Willow Pass Rd.
The following is from the Concord Police Dept.:
On Saturday, September 26, 2020, at 12:20 a.m., CPD officers responded to a report of a stabbing on Willow Pass Rd. near Second St.
Upon arrival, officers found the female victim deceased.
According to witnesses, a verbal argument ensued between the victim and the suspect which turned physical. During the confrontation, the victim sustained multiple stab wounds and died at the scene as a result.
The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.
An extensive search by CPD officers was conducted using a CPD K9 Unit, Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office Drone Unit, and a CHP Air Unit. During the investigation, officers were able to identify a potential suspect. Ultimately, CPD officers located the suspect not far from the original crime scene. There does not appear to be any outstanding suspects.
The identity of the suspect and the victim are not being released to the public at this time.

Passed by the scene. May she rest in peace. The poor woman laid under a yellow tarp for hours, having passed by again heading to work. I moved to Concord to escape such violence!

Yes,….down the way from the Safeway. Saturday morning traveling on W/P to down town Concord for shopping, Hubby and I saw the Police, area taped off, and they were just covering her body. So sad (RIP), but at least CPD has caught the suspect
Pretty embarrassing that Concord PD had to call in the Sheriffs office CSI unit to process the scene. Great job disbanding that unit at CPD, Roche and Swanger (sarcasm). How about the new Chief bring back a unit that does some good work and helps solve crimes? May as well as some more Motor officers and cut some of the fat from the command staff at the same time.
It isn’t always a legacy left by previous Chiefs! Need to realize that this whole state is a sanctuary state status. Therefore, if a transferring or retiring Chief wishes to maintain a good resume, they must knuckle under this pressure and eliminate any spenditure that would REALLY ID the miscreants involved.
Won’t be long until Concord is the next Antioch. Fortunately I’ll be long gone by then. The liberal utopia can implode.
