How about patrolling with an emphasis on educating bicyclists and pedestrians on their RESPONSIBILITES??? Like not jaywalking across Treat, Clayton Road, etc…? And obeying the same laws motorists are supposed to follow?

70 collisions in concord past 5 years-per CADOT

41% driver was cited for bicycle and pedestrian collision
14% bicyclist cited wrong side of road

66% driver was cited for pedestrian only in crosswalk
20% pedestrian cited outside of crosswalk or intersection or failing to yield

2019 data under review before becoming final

Data was for children only, Ages 4-18

Here come the DUI checkpoints!

Good for Concord PD they need all the support we can give them.

Money could be allocated to officer training in military style tactics, especially how and when to enter a building, when use their firearm, marksmanship* and to some standard of martial arts. Training, practice, etc. to take place while on the clock. It does not have to be every officer, perhaps an elite group like SWAT. Resisting arrest has become common and officers must learn how to deal with violent and sometimes drug crazed or desperate arrestees.

*Consider a video about a year ago where about 6 cops emptied their clips at a perp who was hit 4 times.

In the old days, only a fool or someone bent on committing suicide by cop resisted arrest. Now, it seems to be a civil right or rite of passage.

Re: Marksmanship…it is one thing to squeeze off a clip at a paper target at a range, and quite another to do it when facing an armed and dangerous criminal.

What I don’t understand, at all, is why Liberal cities ban non-lethal weapons…it’s like they want people to die or something.

Yassssss totally on you w/ a better supper system for them and dealing with the case properly after all they are protecting everyone and wanting a better place For them and everyone I hope !

I’m sure the new Captain will somehow screw this up as well.

$134,200 for nothing more than what they are already doing(patrolling).Dont get me wrong i am a big supporter of our brave police officers, but that grant money could be used for our schools. we as a city should be putting all available funds and spare time into our schools.after one year of honest effort i believe the rewards would be huge
