The “Water Cooler” is a feature on Claycord.com where we ask you a question or provide a topic, and you talk about it!
The “Water Cooler” will be up Monday-Friday at noon!
Today’s question:
QUESTION: Who do you plan to vote for in the district 11 congressional election? Mark DeSaulnier or Nisha Sharma?
Talk about it….
Nisha Sharma
Hi Simonpure,… 🙂
Hello Roz…hope all is well with you.
Who ever runs opposed to Mark, Vote for them.
Literally ANYONE but Mark! He needs to go back to owning a restaurant!
He couldn’t even do that right!!
“C” Yuck
Nisha Sharma
Nisha Sharma.
Nisha Sharma
Nisha.
I’m sick of Mark and his garbage.
Anyone or thing besides Mark
Nisha Sharma Mark is a democrat party parrot. If it isn’t a social issue he is not interested.
Nisha Sharma!!!
Nisha, one of her priorities is dealing with the homeless situation and I also can’t stand Mark DeSaulnier, he’s been in office for years and nothing has changed for the better.
I want to hear Sharma’s response to the question: Are you proud of President Trump and are you proud of his response to the COVID pandemic? If she says yes to either or both I’m voting for DeSaulnier.
@ concord guy.
What else would you have liked POTUS to have done in response the pandemic that he did not do. I’d really like to know.
Look up Proclamation 9984.
Then look up the liberals response.
Then look up Nancy in Chinatown pandering for votes in February.
Then realize watching MSNBC and CNN has not been working in your favor.
Nisha Sharma is who I will be voting for, tired of Mark’s BS
Had hopes early on we’d have an adult who’d stand up and call out pelosi’s nonsense. Now being very disappointment,
I’m tempted to ask if pelosi wears tail lights.
Sick of Marky Mark. Now’s your chance people – don’t be lemmings!!!
Nisha Sharma. DeSaulnier never went beyond the talking points. Let’s give her a chance now.
However isn’t a Republican. They have run this country into the ground and have lost my trust. I will vote 3rd party before I ever vote for a Republican again. There is a reason why they barely exist in California, they are failures and the vast majority of Californians have seen through their BS. I laugh at the people claiming California will turn red again. Only the rich or fools would vote Republican in this state. If you want conservative values you vote Libertarian.
There is no Libertarian on the ballot opposing DeSaulnier. Where are your people? Obviously, no where to be found when we need them.
a vote for a third party is a Vote for marky mark.
No California probably won’t turn red any time soon. However, it’s going to get a whole lot poorer soon.
Let’s see: California is the homeless capital of the US, it has the highest taxes and energy costs, it’s billions of dollars in debt due to completely inept management. And a Governor that is way north of delusional, who routinely wipes his backside on the constitution.
In short, the middle class, upper middle class, and the entrepreneurs are departing. That will leave the homeless, the poor, and the trust fund babies. Who will pay the wealth tax? To survive, California will have to be real nice to the Feds.
Sharma …
Marky is just one of pelosi’s boy toys….
Anybody who was running against Mark would be better.
Sharma. My neighbor’s dog would be better than Mark.
LL Cool J…
Be truthful about the virus with the American people (from the start)
Wear a mask and model/encourage mask wearing since it helps
Listen and support the scientists recs as they know more than the rest of us
Don’t promote conspiracy theories as virus has killed people on both sides
Increase or at least keep existing healthcare in place during pandemic
Recognize testing and put forth effort – our testing is worse than most
Don’t suggest mail in balloting will lead to unfair election when historical research proves otherwise
Could probably keep going but this is a good start
@Jeff
Well put. If only facts were more powerful than propaganda.
You forgot stop making public announcements that knowingly cause huge volatility swings in the stock market allowing his insiders to profit off his unproven comments.
@ Jeff. Keep watching CNN. Wow, you are completely brainwashed.
Masks do nothing. Thousands of doctors are raising their hands and speaking out. As for testing, we have a ton and much of it is faulty. That is not his fault. POTUS shut down borders when Dems said it was racist to do so. He did everything his experts told him too.
You really do have TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome). You parrot CNN and other mainstream news talking points.
It doesn’t matter what Trump does, you and the news will find a spin to bash it.
Truly sad to see otherwise intelligent people completely devoid of thinking skills.
And this is coming someone who was a democrat for 30 years and I also despised Trump – due to what I was told in the media.. When I finally took off the blinders and see what has really happened, it is amazing the chokehold the media has on Trump haters.
Hope some of you aren’t afraid to wake up, open your eyes, and see how the wool has been pulled over them.
LL: Good points. The media has become a problem. Journalism used to be who, what, where, when and why. Now its all spin to make one person, Trump, look bad. Look at all of the anti-Trump stories on WaPo, NY Times, CNN and try to pretend that is journalism or normal. Only a Democrat could be so blind as to not be shocked by media manipulation.
Mark.
BTW folks, it is possible to just answer the question without needing to be insulting or divisive.
Interesting that DeSaulnier himself was being divisive in his “actions during Trump’s inauguration and SOTU speech. Remember his sit-in? And have you heard all of his insulting remarks about Trump since then?
If you’re gonna throw a tantrum, you had better remember ALL of the facts.
Now take your faux outrage elsewhere.
I’m with SKS
I’m with SKS also.
who ever wrote this
However isn’t a Republican. They have run this country into the ground and have lost my trust. I will vote 3rd party before I ever vote for a Republican again. so your saying that this state is being run great
with a wiener lobbying to abuse children disgusting
pelosi denying help from the fed
deslacker ..well ….picnic anyone
newscum slamming us all and shutting us down …favoring his napa and SF
YOU can not be serious …unless you are collecting all of the dem donations from our tax dollars i have no idea why your blinders are on so tight ….
oh and explain why a different party is so worse than a pedophile senator who wants to allow sex abuse of children ….please inform us all of why this is what you support over america and child safety
please ….all i hear is trump is this or that and no proof or substance or facts
or are you not aware all the allegations from the dems were false and slanderous as well as the fake mueller probe all costing us millions that did not go to your free money programs …at least you should be outraged at that ……………
desaulnier is an embarassment…as are his hypocritical supporters. Case in point, the unacceptable filth and crime plaguing our community due to street bums.
One of Nisha’s priorities; “Parts of California now resemble medieval Europe, with outbreaks of the bubonic plague, leprosy, and arrows being shot into homeless encampments. It’s time that the federal government declare a state of emergency to address this humanitarian crisis. It is neither humanitarian nor compassionate to let people live and die on our streets. We must help them get the mental health, drug addiction, housing, and employment help that they so desperately need”
Anybody who doesn’t agree that the liberal pandering is an utter failure and this disgusting situation needs cleaning up, is really and truly only kidding themselves. The majority of us are fed up.
Voting for a candidate with commonsense is at the very least, sending the right message.
Now days it seems as if things I support fail, and things I oppose are passed. Same principle applies to candidates. So…I already voted for Sharma, which means we will have another 2 years of DeSaulnier.
Anyone but DeSaulnier, and if they don’t work out, in four years they will get dumped, too.
Pyrrrus… the wealthy are more likely to vote democrat. Have you driven through Alamo or Reliez Valley Rd? More Biden signs there than anywhere else I’ve seen
Just got back from near Grass Valley Trump signs everywhere! Working class people are for the values of Republicans!
Trump 2020!
No to Marky Mark!!!!
Wealthy and poorer whites are more likely to vote Republican. Poorer people of color or more likely to vote Democrat. Urban voters lean towards Democrat. Years ago, the Republican party was the party of the wealthy.
Not Mark. I saw him sitting on the floor of congress one time in protest of something. What an idiot. Time for him to go
Nisha hitched up to the Trump train. Her campaign strategy is to rile up emotions of fear and anger. She has no positive message. She also seems to be heavily influenced the right-wing politics of Narendra Modi, particularly when it comes to Islamophobia. The California Republican Party has no moderation anymore. They ran a far right Trump candidate for governor with Cox, and now they are running another far right Congressional candidate with Nisha.
She says she is going to solve homelessness in California, yet her website offers no specific proposals on how to do this. She also has a confused message about identity politics. On one hand she denounces identity politics, but on other hand she leans heavily on her identity as an Indian-American.
Sometimes she comes across as a grifter. Like she knows she won’t win, but she’s running a campaign to get her name out there to build up a brand fro some future venture after the election.
Natalie: So a reason you are against Nisha is that she does not give specifics on addressing homelessness. In contrast, there is nothing on DeSaulnier’s gov website on homelessness as far as I can see and using the “search” function on his site leads only to a 2015 story that he and some other members of congress were appealing to Gov. Brown to expand a Homeless Student program. So you prefer Mark’s approach of pretending homelessness is not a problem to Nisha’s raising the issue as a priority. Interesting.
Already voted fir Mark
I do not know much about Sharma, just the little bit I have read, but, I will vote for her. Desaulnier voted for impeachment, so I immediately see that he is just a lapdog, and importantly, I would like to lose Pelosi as SoH; she is awful for America regardless of party.
Congressman DeSaulnier. He has worked so hard for his constituents since George Miller retired and he assumed the seat. He reached across the aisle his entire career, both as a Republican and now as a Democrat. His opponent tried to unseat Eric Swalwell. When that didn’t work, she came up here. I recently had to report one of her Facebook postings because she had reposted a conspiracy theorist.
I am very proud of Mark. He is the best candidate. I know most of the Claycorders hate him. They always say so which is tiresome and negative.
No hate, nothing personal. He just doesn’t have much to show for his time in the trenches. It’s nice he worked on concussions for student athletes, improved access to the John Muir Historic Site, and rallied against faulty highway guardrails. Time to give someone else a chance who will work on more substantive issues.
Yes, Mark is awesome! He definitely is for criminals, welfare lifers, illegal aliens, Peter Pan millennials and leftist loonies.
Tiresome and negative comments do not equate to “hate.”
It seems you assign the hate label to everyone that disagrees with you. Now THAT’S tiresome…. you’re so predictable…
Nisha Sharma
Have you seen the huge signs for Nisha? Who paid for those; it certainly wasn’t the candidate. Yes, Mark has some big signs also, but he’s a known quantity. Follow the money and see who is paying for Nisha’s campaign.
FOLLOW THE MONEY. Those huge signs cost a bundle$$$ to print.
Those signs are not that expensive, and some of us have been contributing to her campaign in a hope that she might replace the absentee landlord that we have in Mark.
I think if you’d look into HIS FEC filings you’d see a lot more that comes from special interests
Mark DeSaulnier
Nisha Sharma. I think she will get more votes than most Republicans in recent years, but it is very tough to beat Democrats in blue districts. Even if they are turning into tyrants. But I dread what will happen if Biden wins.
Both poster Natalie and poster Lynne are vacuum brains!!
Have no idea who Nisha is but she has to be better than DeSaulnier!!!! Look at what the locals Dems do – blindly and brain-dead vote Pelosi in every time!
I cannot help but to feel sorry for Nisha as all the vacuum brains in D-11 will vote DeSaulnier back in!
Pelosi has nothing to do with DeSaulnier. Voting for DeSaulnier has nothing to do with Pelosi. You criticize me for voting blindly, but you freely admit you are voting for Nisha despite not knowing who she is or what her policies are. That is voting blindly.
I am not a member of the Democratic Party, and am not registered as a Democratic Party voter. I’ve looked at both candidates, and I am voting for the one who most closely matches my person beliefs, and the person who has the best skill sets to be in Congress.
You lost the argument when you said Deslacker has nothing to do with Pelosi. Your lies are becoming more and more transparent as voters become way more informed then ever. Good luck to your party, I wish you well.
The picture of DeSaulnier at his last swearing in ceremony for Congress shows him wearing a Pelosi lapel button.
I’d vote for Wavy Gravy if he was runnning.
Nisha should get a chance.
If she does good, keep her.
If she does poorly, vote in someone else.
That’s how it’s supposed to work.
Mark ain’t done much, so out he should go.
Mr. DeSaulnier. Finished my research on the propositions and candidates and will drop off my ballot at a designated drop box tomorrow morning.
TERM LIMIT! Mark is a Joe and is in lock step with the socialists and enablers. Hell no to Mark! Plus like Biden he is ill.
And throughout all the BS locally during this election season, there hasn’t been ONE word from our glorious Representative, Timmy Grayson; where’s he hiding? The former councilmember and mayor of Concord has an office on Grant St, but seems to never visit, and he’s the one who could never quite remember that Todos Santos PLAZA wasn’t Todos Santos park.
Correction; it should be Assemblyman Timmy, not Representative. He’s a State pol, not Fed.
Grayson has run several tv ads, but I’m voting for his opponent. I don’t know Grayson’s voting record, but if he represented me, he’d be screaming “bloody murder” over the job Wiener is doing in the Senate. If your representatives are not disturbed about Wiener’s introduction of legislation thar is primarily warped and twisted, they must not be paying attention and they need to be replaced.
I’m voting for DeSaulnier.
Yes, I’ll vote for DeSaulnier also:
Better the devil you know, than the devil you don’t know.
Does anyone know what illness kept Mark out of service for so long??
Red razor: Mark has had cancer in the past, and this spring, he fell while running and fractured a rib. The rib punctured a lung and he was in critical condition with Pneumonia. He recovered and returned to work.
Just prior to Covid, Desaulnier visited Concord High and held a town hall with the graduating seniors. He took tough questions from the kids and even responded to a question about diversity where the student asked if he was so concerned about representation, why didn’t he step down and let someone else run. He was poised and kind to the students, and listened to them. The vast majority asked questions about healthcare, college tuition, and immigration reform.
While I believe he does have a bit of the sheen of a seasoned politician, and often takes a VERY long time to get to the point, it’s his stance on these subjects that gets my vote. He supports affordable healthcare and college tuition as well as a more clear path to citizenship for immigrants. To many Republicans, that sounds like a nightmare, but you’ll forgive me if I think that as many Americans as possible should have access to healthcare and education, and if someone wants to become an American citizen, we should have an accessible way for folks to do it.
America has the highest death rate from Covid for a few reasons. 1. We have ineffective preventative care 2. People are afraid of bankrupting themselves, so they only go to the hospital when it’s dire and they may be past help. 3. We have leaders who downplay the severity of the virus. Yes, the death rate is low, and most folks will survive if they contract it, but that does not negate that it’s one of the most contagious and deadly widespread viruses we have seen in our lifetime. If we had effective preventative care, offered affordable treatment, and a solid system, we would be seeing far fewer deaths and not be an anomaly among developed countries.
Republicans often see post-secondary education as the biggest contributor for liberal indoctrination, and as such, shun the value of education. The truth is, the more educated someone is, the less likely they are to commit crime, engage in domestic violence, abuse drugs, get a divorce, require government aid, etc. Statistics clearly show that the more educated a society is, the more prosperous and successful that society is. If we provided more avenues for accessing education, we could begin to repair the damage our country is suffering from every day. If you want the homelessness problem “solved” by a politician, they can offer you little more than “getting rid of them,” aka making them someone else’s problem. California has a massive homeless problem simply because of the temperate climate. If you ended up homeless, tell me which you would prefer: winter in Wisconsin with temps well below freezing, resulting in your imminent death OR winter in California where the worst you’ll get is low 30’s and some intermittent rain? Yes, the homeless population can be destructive and cause long-term problems, but you cannot just treat the effect of the problem, you need to treat the source of the issue.
Immigrants are far from the enemy, and our country would be nothing without them. Our current immigration system is a nightmare to navigate and those who come here illegally rarely cross the border on foot, yet the republican focus has become spending money on a physical barrier that will do little to cease illegal immigration. Again, a complete overhaul of our system would have far better results than the band aids or all encompassing decrees being suggested by politicians.
If you have kids, I’m sure you are teaching them that a little bit of effort up front can make a world of difference. If you start small and invest in making things better to begin with, you do not have to deal with excessive fall out as a result of inaction. I’m for putting in some time and money to start fixing a problem before it starts, rather than becoming angry about it later and attempting to place blame or destroy something completely as a reaction.
All of these reasons are why I’m voting blue down my entire ballot. The Republican Party has become angry, bitter, and reactionary. They seek to limit liberties and privileges of Americans through suppression and division. I want to fund what matters to the American public and look to provide a means for our country to compete on the world stage again. Our education and healthcare systems have placed us just about dead last among civilized countries, and as a proud American, I want more for us.
Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.
You go girl. I’m not voting for “angry, bitter” candidates either.
So you completely support the anarchy and violence being perpetrated by the left.
You vote all”blue”, you therefore condone e violence.
So much for liberal “logic.”
“America has the highest death rate from Covid for a few reasons.”
According to Wikipedia, the US is not in the top 10.
“He took tough questions from the kids”
Really? This guy’s toughness is he can handle questions from kids?
“if someone wants to become an American citizen, we should have an accessible way for folks to do it”
Based on what? Do you want to pay for it? The first generation is by far a net loss to taxpayers, and you are trying to raid our wallets for your ideals. And how’s the overcrowding in California working for you? Don’t see a connection do you.
“Republicans often see post-secondary education as the biggest contributor for liberal indoctrination, and as such, shun the value of education”.
Quit watching CNN. There is liberal indoctrination but your conclusion is not supported. Republicans do send their kids to college. Liberal indoctrination may influence where they go, such as my neighbor saying that was part of his decision.
“I’m voting blue down my entire ballot”
Yes, exactly as one would expect from an “educated” person.
“California has a massive homeless problem simply because of the temperate climate.”
So, I guess we had a different climate a few decades ago when there were few visible homeless?
Fred P.
Reading comprehension can be tough. I didn’t mention anything about violence, but if you wanted to talk about that, let’s go ahead and do that, shall we? How about the glaring majority of terrorist acts in the US in the last 4 years? Yes, terrorist acts, because I refuse to classify mass shootings as anything but. Whose name did we see in these manifestos or on their Facebook pages? Whose red hat were they wearing (figuratively) when they killed innocent folks? 22 dead in Texas intentionally targeted because of Trump. The governors of Michigan and Virginia were victims of kidnapping plots by rabid Trump lovers.
Please know, I in no way condone violence. I don’t condone the murders of unarmed POC in our country. I don’t condone driving a car through a protest and killing people. I don’t condone going to a protest after crossing state lines with an illegal firearm and killing two people. If you mean to tell me that the violence that has ensued at any of the protests that have been conducted across the country (oh, the largely peaceful protests that end in physical violence only AFTER counter-protestors join for the sole purpose of antagonizing) is the only example of violence associated with a political party, I’m gonna ask you to do a bit more research. The protests were in response to calls for equal civil rights. Sometimes they ended up violent. Sometimes they didn’t. The violence is neither a draw nor a deterrent for my vote. The issues that I believe in: civil rights, health care, education, better care for veterans and those battling mental illness, a free and fair democracy, a woman’s right to body autonomy, etc. are reasons why I vote blue, no matter who. The modern GOP is crawling with sycophants lining up to kiss the ring of a washed up, bankrupt (morally and financially) reality TV star who has little to offer by way of intelligent discourse or progress in our country. I’m actually more on the conservative side than many of my peers, but I can recognize a fraud when I see one. The fish rots from the head, Fred.
T D L,
You may be correct with your info, but your credibility is shot.
Wikipedia is not a credible source for citation. Even by their own admission. Most know this, and now so do you.

Holy Encyclopedia Batman !
Dear Claycord, my last post’s link was terribly long website…. I can see it now sprawled all over the page…
Feel free to not post it…
The fact is – you’re voting “blue” on your entire ballot.
Nearly 100% of the violence/destruction is being caused by left wing supporters (ie, liberals/democrats).
Ipso facto, you condone the violence.
Reading comprehension? I guess simple logic isn’t your strong point.
To Do List:
1. Forgive me, I mis-typed. Highest total deaths. 4% of the world’s population, 20% of the worlds total deaths. My analysis regarding this stands.
2. You have distorted what I said and made a silly generalization. I was providing an anecdote of my personal experience and what I have seen of a candidate. At no point did I say he was tough, just that he was willing to answer challenging questions from young voters.
3. America is meant to be (and was created as such) to be a refuge for anyone who seeks it. The basis for our creation was to provide a fresh start or place to succeed for those who wish to work hard enough to achieve their goals. Immigrants contribute to our society and community far more than they take.
4. I actually based my statement on a series of articles from Prager University that claims public institutions are a wasteland of liberal mentalities seeking to manipulate and mold the young generation. Uneducated Republicans are less and less likely to support college education, particularly from state schools. Trump’s strongest voter base is uneducated white males. There’s a reason for that.
5. Interestingly enough, yes, my education has taught me to vote all dem in this particular election. Our democracy is being threatened and I believe that the GOP has been compromised. I’m sure there are plenty of folks who think the opposite, so they choose to vote Republican all the way down. We vote in the best way we can to support our personal values. If there were any viable 3rd party options, I’d shoot for them. To be honest, I’m in support of ranked voting as a way for our country to distance ourselves from the two party system. It’s not currently feasible, so I vote for what I think could make the most progress and do the least damage.
6. If you look into homelessness numbers over the years, California is almost always in the “worst” as far as numbers go. Again, which would you choose, Wisconsin in the -20 freezing blizzard or a sunny 45 in LA? I know my choice.
7. (My pen addition) For me, it all comes back to education. The more we invest in the education of our society, the better off we will be. America has taken a turn to favor brute force over intelligence (look at funding for military vs. funding for education, particularly compared to the most successful countries). I pick candidates who are most likely to funnel money into schools. Our kids need the best available. Currently, teachers are working with Taco Bell meat-like filling and are being expected to produce a filet mignon dinner. I’d like to set everyone up for success.
Hope that helped clarify. Thanks for your thoughts.
1. So, in other and shorter words, you are wrong.
2. Most people on this site field tough questions from kids every day. Amazing you put Mark on some kind of pedestal where that is admirable for him somehow.
3. You do not have any better idea of what America is meant to be than I do. You are offering your opinion as fact.
4. You cherry pick a few facts to come to incorrect conclusions. Very CNN of you. The popular vote was about 63 million to 66 million so according to your analysis about 63 million people are accurately represented and thought of as uneducated white guys.
5. If you studied political science, maybe you could have seen the fragmentation and constantly shifting alliances and potato salad mess that some political systems have with numerous parties in Europe. Or, in the US look how Nader drained away the votes from Gore and got Bush elected.
6. So, here again by lack of a response you admit you are wrong and that homelessness is not a weather problem, but rather a political and economic problem.
7. Education many times now comes with the baggage of leftist political indoctrination. Even those going to school for pre-med or programming degrees are forced to take general education classes covering politics and the teacher makes it clear what their political views are.
To Do List: I think this will be the last time that I engage, considering you are reluctant to have positive discourse and debate, and seem hell bent on calling me wrong by means over overgeneralizing my statements.
1. As I said previously, I used the wrong terminology. I don’t have an issue admitting a mistake and offering clarification. Regardless of the initial use of incorrect verbiage, the US has the highest death count in the world, while DEFINITELY coming nowhere close to the highest population. That is a fact. My personal analysis (which, yes, is an opinion) is that one of the reasons for this discrepancy is due to our ineffective healthcare system, which is a criticism of the government in its entirety, not one party.
2. Again, it was an anecdote. I am not saying that he should be worshiped or even admired for taking tough questions, I was stating what happened and that I was impressed that he took his time to spend with a group of local teens who will be voting soon. He didn’t have to do it, but he chose to.
3. I used history as a basis for my claim, as well as what is engraved on the Statue of Liberty. I’m not sure what you think of when you think of America, but I think of opportunity, diversity, and a desire to succeed. You can think what you want, but I have a set of ideals that I (and many others) associate with our country.
4. Am I wrong when I say that Trump’s strongest voter base are uneducated white males? No. Any quick search can see broken down demographics of voters. Nowhere was it stated that all Trump voters are anything, but the simple fact that uneducated white males are his strongest supporters.
5. If you have studied political science, then maybe you would know that the US is considered a flawed democracy and ranks in the mid-twenties on an international scale. This is mostly because of our ineffective government. As a result, it might be appropriate to seek alternate parties as a means to restore balance and return to an inflated democracy. Again, ideally I would love to vote for better, more effective candidate, but for now I stick to the party that closest represents my ideals and convictions. This is currently the Democrat party.
6. As previously stated, I believe the larger amounts of homelessness is related to the weather, but not a direct nor sole relationship. I’m always curious about people who seek to eradicate homelessness, but refuse to fund programs that would help, and genuinely only want the problem “eliminated.” That’s not a solution to the problem, so it will continue to be a problem.
7. Again, I think that education is the best way to attack and solve many of these problems. A solid education base in younger years directly correlates with success later in life. Why do you think so many educators are liberal leaning? There is a belief in sacrificing for the greater good. There is the idea of providing opportunities to all of those who are willing to work hard. It does not help the cause of the conservatives to claim that educators are trying to force a liberal indoctrination because more often than not, the republicans have chosen to avoid the field of education to favor personal growth and success. If conservatives truly cared about this, they would step up to educate the youth of America in order to provide a balance, but instead there is a choice made to complain and tear down education, rather than build it up and make it better. I wish more educators were conservative, it’s important to have all sorts of backgrounds when educating children/young adults. Give them as many perspectives as possible and allow them to suss out their own beliefs and thoughts from their diverse education. Again, that’s my own idealism and hope for a better future.
Finally, good sir or Madame (my own bias and possibly prejudice gets the sense that you are male, but I would prefer not to assume), I encourage you to embrace when someone politely engages with you over critical matters. It’s not too difficult to be kind and ask questions for the sole purpose of learning. I know the modern approach is to talk over one another and completely ignore the arguments the opposing side has made while also refusing to concede that there are valid arguments being brought to the table, but I think that most Americans are better than these pathetic displays of dominance. I think that most of us are on the same team but wearing different uniforms.
Again, thank you for engaging. I think it’s important to see things from an alternate perspective. Buona fortuna.
Fed Up: You mistake brevity for abruptness. The format of forums do not encourage long discussion. I do believe you are wrong on many issues. And to generalize, the electorate has been force fed Leftist propaganda in such large quantities over the past few years that it is not surprising to find people frustrated by the cognitive dissonance that other ideas exist. Kids in school now carefully choose paper topics based on what they think the political views are of the teachers so they are not punished for having the wrong political viewpoint. Reminds me of the cultural revolution in China. That is very sick and seriously degrades your argument for some generic increase in education. Perhaps as an educated person, you will later re-engage in a similar discussion here and maybe it will start to dawn that CNN and their ilk and many in the teaching profession are cancerous to this society.
The Republicans aren’t the solution to all of our problems, but the Democrats are the source of all our problems!
AD
NISHA!!!
