A search of a car suspected of being involved in a recent hit-and-run led to the arrest of a 21-year-old man on weapons and drug charges Tuesday, Pleasant Hill police said.
The car was spotted about 7:20 p.m. in the 500 block of Contra Costa Boulevard and a search turned up a loaded handgun and evidence of drugs.
The driver, whose identity was not released by police, was arrested and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.

I was going to say the exact same thing. CCC just lets them go now with a notice to appear. I am over living here. We now have gang sign tagging in our neighborhood, cars spinning donuts in front of our house, homeless encampments near Rick Sears Park – in the culvert. Drug deals going on right across the street and nothing is being done. CPD’s hands are tied because of the DA’s decision to not prosecute.
I see criminals are still favored over good citizens

I know these young people are told this kind of life will ruin their lives. But they don’t really believe it and so proceed with this kind of “business.” Since most of them are not truly punished or redeemed, it just keeps getting worse.
I just worry about how much worse it’s going get before people wake up? And unfortunately there are some out there they will never admit the current path attorney criminals lose is the wrong one. They’re so hung up on supposed social justice and the trendy progressive ideas of the day that I think they’re willing to sacrifice a lot of the public in their quest. They Don’t Care about us hard-working tax paying law abiding citizens that hold society together. I worry how much worse it’s going to get and whether it will even be tolerable.

Is that Glock on the stolen weapons list? If so, did the rightful owner report it as stolen? What exactly are the “weapons charges”?
Was the car registered to this “driver”? Did he even have a valid driver’s license?
How much dope are we talking about? Was there evidence of “intent to sell”?
It says evidence of drugs? what does that mean, no actual drugs, just a smudged mirror or pipe or something?
Until the drugs are tested, Cops don’t know for sure what it is.

It is simply a policy decision.
Nothing prevents or compels the police to release the person’s name in a press release or even make a press release for that matter; However, all arrests are a matter of public record. You can either drive down to PHPD and ask to see the pubic log which will contain the person’s name or you can call the Sheriff’s Office for his name, charges, bail amount and picture if you so desired.
You do not need to give a reason to see the public log. Just because is good enough.
