Concord Police over the weekend arrested a man who was asleep in the front seat of his vehicle with a large amount of drugs on his lap.

As officers searched the vehicle, they discovered over two pounds of meth, a concealed handgun, a replica handgun and a high capacity handgun magazine.

Police credit an alert citizen who called the authorities after they spotted the suspicious vehicle with the man inside.

He messed up, if only he had a Tinted Windshield…..CPD would have left him alone.

😆

Not being a drug user I am guessing two pounds of meth is a lot. Must be a dealer and should get a minimum of twenty years. Anything less would be criminal. Would be nice if we could follow this guy and see how fast he is back on the streets.

back in the day…..one tenth of a gram was considered a usable amount..so it wasnt a far stretch to prove a perp was a dealer with that quantity…but…that was back in the day…The “system” today would have you believe 2 lbs was for personal use…..hahah

To put things into perspective for you, an “8 ball” about 1/8 of an ounces or about 3 grams is considered a lot.

2 lbs. or just a little under 1 kilo (907 grams) is drug trafficking weight.

I foresee the US Attorney’s Office taking over this case. This is going to be a significant life even for this person even if prosecution stay with the State.

1 gram now days goes for about $60. So just over $50,000 worth

With the price of ammo these days those two mags of ammo are worth more than the two pounds of meth.

The meth is a whole lot easier to get in California then the ammo lol no lie

And this is why they call it “Dope”.

I wonder if DA Becton will file charges?

Depends on the perp’s race.

Nice!

Good luck Aunt Barbara, I was pretty much told to get lost when I called CPD non-emergency line to inquire why CPD isn’t doing anything about these Tinted Windshields.

Genius.

More like game goofy

Release his name and photo!!!

It’s likely he was not a Concord resident, he was probably just passing through the city on the way to somewhere else. Concord is not a hot bed of drug dealing, gangs and so forth. Homes in our city cost 800K, that kind of discourages bad guys from moving to Concord. A
Concord PD officials are always trumpeting Concord’s soaring crime rate, and they also claim constantly our city is being over-run by gangs. and drug traffickers They do this to keep wages and benefit packages sky high at the PD – keep the gravy train going for all that work at the PD – they want to drain as much of the city tax coffers as they can.
Concord PD has been wildly successful at this, to the point Concord is now known mostly for it’s PD. Other city programs have been decimated, to the point Concord – today – is a “one service” city. We have a massive PD Concord now, but little else, our libray is a dump, rec programs have been reduced to nothing, even the Concord Pavillion has been placed on the backburner.
Concord’s only real goal today is to arrest and jail residents and visitors to our town – such as this guy arrested in this article
Laughably, almost nobody Concord PD’s arrests anymore even goes to jail, the don’t have room at the jail, and bail laws were done away with.
But Concord City officials – who care little about our town (most are out of town ringers) – continue to fund this massive PD operation in Concord for political reasons. Concord has become a cold blooded heartless place -a city where they just try to arrest you, thanks to these sad sacks sitting on our council.

All the problem in the world and we are calling the cops about tinted windows. No wonder they told you to get lost. Glad the police were able to do some real work and get these drugs off the street rather then responding to ridiculous complaints!

What are u talking about ‘C’?

NOBODY called CPD to take Police away from catching criminals, the call was about: “Why isn’t Concord PD doing anything about all of these vehicles with illegal Tinted Windshields?”

It’s pretty pathetic that there’s a used Ford Explorer at Concord Audi….with a Tinted Windshield.

Next stop will be City Council and eventually photos of vehicles in Claycord with the tint will be posted online.

So you are suggesting pulling over every car with tinted windows so that you have probable cause to run a check on people. Seems like the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. There are so many non criminals driving cars with tinted windows. That was a pretty ridiculous statement. We should be worried about the 2 pounds of meth and not if his windows are tinted at 35% or 20%. There are way easier ways to spot real criminals…..like their lack of teeth or a car that looks like it needed to be in a junk yard 8 years ago!!!!!

Original post was about TINTED WINDSHIELDS.
The only one “Dumb” sounding here is yourself with your lack of reading comprehension.

@C, if it’s a law it’s illegal. You don’t get to decide which ridiculous laws to follow. You follow all the laws. Tinted windows are illegal for a reason. You must be a Democrat because of your mind set.

.
Two pounds of speed and the perp was asleep?
.

I was thinking the same thing. Arm & Hamer

Now that is funny!!!!!

Musta been bunk stuff!🤣

He wasn’t sleeping, he had a medical emergency, probably overdosed.

Says “asleep” in the article. No wonder he had so much…..nobody is buying his “bunka**” stuff!

If I were the suspect, I’d not worry about it. I believe our new D.A. has allowed most drugs to be considered legal. I’d make sure that his Public Defender inform the judge that he was not busted selling anything and make himself available for some community service.

Any guesses, ? ? ?

A. on parole
B. on probation
C. out on zero bail

Are the people running Concord PD anti-drug? I wonder sometimes. I recall longtime Concord PD Chief Guy Swanger – who mercifully retired awhile back – was an enthusiastic backer of cannabis stores coming to Concord, the more the merrier was his view
The reason Swanger was a strong supporter of Cannabis stores in Concord is because he wanted the Concord PD to get a piece of the action. So did the leaders of the Concord POA. Cannabis stores are highly profitable. The people who work at Concord PD – the Wyatt Earp gang as I like to call them – were licking their chops in anticipation of all the extra money that would flow into city tax coffers from Concord’s cannabis stores..
In Concord, of course, almost all tax dollars wind up in the pockets of people that work at the PD. The city budget has been “rigged” for many years to pay inflated wages to the people that work at the PD, even though Concord is a low crime suburban city. We have little serious crime in Concord. To ;justify Concord bloated city budget PD officials continue to exaggerate Concord’s crime problems.
I was hoping this new PD Chief that was hired would put an end to the obvious corruption going on at the Concord PD, but so far he has done nothing. We just have a new leader of the Wyatt Earp gang that runs the PD now.
The Concord PD continues to shake down the city managers office and the council for money – to fight a pretend crime wave. Concord PD continues to be a blue hole where all city money goes, the waste going on is breathtaking (WC pays 28% of the budget for policing, Concord 56%!)

Lars

Since you are confused let my put this to rest for you, YES the police in California are anti ILLEGAL drugs. They do not call the police Law Enforcement for nothing.

Possession of 2 pounds of methamphetamine is a violation of the law by the State 11350(a) Health & Safety Code and Federal Government 21 USC §841.

There is a major difference between marijuana and methamphetamine. Its pretty obvious you haven’t been around a smelly, lets take apart every appliance in the house, I’m got 90% of my teeth in my pocket, open sore, I’ve been up for days, I will lie, cheat and steal anything not nailed down meth addict.

Trying to justify defunding the police based on a 2 pound meth bust is ludicrous.

Perhaps you should move to Oregon. Seems to be more your speed.

You can have the best dope in the world but after staying awake for along time even the best dope wont keep you awake.Dude probably was coming down off a loong run and not knowingly passed out.I doubt someone is going to have 2 lbs of garbage. But anything is possible.Im curious how much money he had in his possession?

@Imrere, was going to say his dope could not be all that if he was sleeping. But your right he was probably up for days. I am surprised the police came out for a man sleeping in his car. We should ask @C, if the police responding to a sleeping man in a car is ridiculous.

Note: ‘it was an alert citizen who notified authorities’…
