In the animal world I have never understood getting the same breed dog over and over.
And then hearing their owners complain that they aren’t like the last one.
I get my doggies and kitties from the overpopulation of rescue. But I can’t save them all by myself. So thank you to the people who adopt, not shop.
Don’t get me started on why there are so many animals who end up in rescue.
cloning is NOT the resurrection of the dead.
Cloning is the process of producing individuals with identical or virtually identical DNA.
Therapeutic cloning is when cells from a human are taken for medical transplant.
I doubt it, but if I could start out as a little kid again, knowing what I know now it might be cool. As far as loved ones go, nope. If there is a God (and I believe there is) and a heaven, then I will see them again all in due time.
If a human has ever been cloned, I never heard about it. South Korean scientists experimented cloning a human, but it failed.
No need to clone people, they over populate themselves already and often. Why copy just one?

My vet once asked if I’d ever consider cloning my cat. I’m guessing because I spent so much money in him in her office.
I would not clone a relative. The cloned would not be the person I knew. It would lack the knowledge and experiences that made my relative who they were. A clone would just be a doppelganger.
I do have a problem with cloning parts of myself for transplants. No rejection issues.
I would not clone a full copy of myself to be kept as parts. That would not be ethical to my mind.
Earth is 4.5 billion years old but it took only 10 thousand years for humans to destroy it. People are selfish so what gives us the right to clone or live on?

People have already paid to send their DNA to companies to have their ancestry analyzed. Their clones are being trained in an underground facility and will show up at their doorstep one day and take over their lives…

No, I don’t think people should be cloned. Do I think it’s happened? Absolutely, look to China, as COVID-19 and their business dealings show, they have no ethics.

I believe cloning humans is unethical and morally wrong. Cloning for “desired” traits will open up a huge Pandora’s box of problems (physically, spiritually, morally, ethically, etc.) that we as a human race don’t want to open up. Avoid at all costs.

Great question! I somehow missed it. I’m not going to spend much time giving it much thought, though. I think if you were looking for an extended version of the original it would be a disappointment. I think it would be about like suddenly having an identical twin weirdly of a different generation, who was raised apart from the other. They may look very similar which could be a comforting novelty for a while, but they would forever be an entirely different individual.
