Fire Agencies Join Forces With Contra Costa Health Services To Host Public COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics

Fire agencies across Contra Costa County are collaborating to host the first of many new appointment-only public vaccination clinics for eligible county residents.

Current plans, which are subject to change, call for vaccine clinics to be held in east county on select Fridays and Saturdays at Los Medanos College in Brentwood.

Clinics are also currently planned for select Wednesdays and Thursdays at Bishop Ranch in San Ramon.

The initial goal of the fire-hosted clinics is delivery of 500 vaccinations per day, with each designed to be scalable to 1,000 or more doses based on vaccine availability and Contra Costa County Health Services (CCHS) guidance.

Regardless of location, all vaccination clinics across the county are by appointment only; walk-up or drop-in vaccinations are not available.

Eligibility is determined by CCHS and criteria can be reviewed and appointments made on their vaccine website.

“As providers of emergency medical services across the county, our fire agencies are proud to be able to increase vaccine distribution in order to help further protect the communities we serve,” said Deputy Chief Aaron McAlister, fire rescue mutual aid coordinator for the operational area. “This multi-agency collaboration includes fire and law enforcement agencies, Contra Costa Health Services, community organizations and many volunteers.”

For residents without internet access, the Contra Costa Health Services vaccination call center is available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily at 1-833-829-2626.

I’m over 65 with medical problems and I have signed up twice with the Contra Costa County website and I haven’t heard a thing. I also belong to Kaiser and haven’t heart anything. Now they are going to vaccinate Teachers and grocery workers. What happened to people over 65 being a priority?

anon –

Kaiser has a very limited supply of the vaccine. While they have opened up Phase 1b which includes individuals 65 and older and teachers, emergency workers and grocery store workers, they are still trying to get through front line workers, long term care facility residents and individuals over the age of 75.

My best advice to you is to CALL the Contra Costa County testing hotline on Sunday mornings. They work seven days a week and Sundays are when they are the least busy. You can call them at 1-833-829-2626.

Good luck.

My mom also had no response. Contra costa county never gave a call back. She called 1 833 829 2626 and they had all her info as soon as she called. Even before she gave it to them. So the system is working.
I think they are just too overwhelmed. My point is she called them after registering online and got an appointment for the next week. Dont wait for them to call you. Call them after you register online.

I am in the same situation it is very frustrating

Ok folks i’m 67 and here’s how I got mine last Friday in Dublin.
Go to https://mho.sutterhealth.org/ and enroll. You do not have to be a patient. During the enroll process they will use experian info to ask multiple choice questions to verify who you are. Once you get past these and are logged in, you can schedule an appt ANYWHERE that sutter health is giving injections. I know pacific grove friends that are going to san mateo sutter health today to get their first shot. Two other folks are going to elk grove area. If you get to a sutter health hospital it will probably be pfizer due to cold storage requirements. Everywhere else is Moderna. Good luck.

No, thanks.
