Seems like the Union isn’t interested in being transparent with the results of a survey from their members. The way I see it, they either don’t want to be seen as the roadblock for kids returning to school, or their survey shows that the majority of teachers aren’t in support of the union’s position. I wonder which it could be?
Hopefully the county board of supervisors can step in and do something to get things moving forward, much like lawsuit brought in San Francisco by the mayor’s office.

So if private schools are in session, appears differences between private and public is school board, some government bureaucrats and unions.
As to 1,000 kids leaving the district, would not be surprised if that number is low. Have seen five families sell in our neighborhood, four that I spoke with were quitting CA.
Idaho, Montana and Texas were destinations.
Where they could buy same size house and have $100,000 plus left over.

A friend is a teacher at a local high school in MDUSD … she indicated the Teacher’s Union has muzzled the teachers, the Union does NOT want the teachers going back and the teachers have no say. Our family is so thankful we left the district two years ago. Children aren’t a priority in MDUSD.

If they are not going back in person when they are permitted, then I think we can safely say that the “school” district is no more. The Board has let you down. I think the State Department Education needs to take it over the MDUSD. Governor, lawyers, where are you?
The level of corruption is so deep. They are also working to bankrupt the charter schools. Unless you want your kids even further behind, home schooling is really all you’ve got. We should sue the county to refund Mello Roos as we are getting absolutely nothing for our money.

With the exception of a student board member who is appointed, the rest are elected. 3 of them including Mayo are up for reelection in 2022, so here is your chance. Or may be not, since trustee elections are by-area and not at-large.
I hope people who elected Keisha Nzewe are happy with their choice. However, considering that she represents area 3 (Monument corridor and adjacent parts of Concord), they probably don’t give a rat’s furry behind about their children’s education. And the rest of us, who do care about our children’s education may be stuck with their choice for a long time.
The only reasonable response to this BS is moving more schools into charters. Clayton Valley has been open since October.

My daughter graduated from CPHS in 2019. She just missed the bullet. The class of 2020 had their senior year stolen from them and it appears the class of 2021 will follow suit, with the added honor of losing both their junior and senior years. So sad and so unnecessary.
If anyone needs proof the teachers union doesn’t care about the kids, they have it in spades.
School vouchers? Oh no, the Democrats killed that idea, as they kill every idea good for responsible families.
