The “Water Cooler” is a feature on CLAYCORD.com where we will ask you a question or provide a topic, and you will talk about it.
The “Water Cooler” will be up Monday-Friday at noon.
Today’s question:
We have people from all over the World who now live in Claycord, so this should be fun to see where everybody’s from.
What city & state were you born in? If you weren’t born in the United States, tell us the city and country. Also, if you were born outside of the state/country, have you ever been back to your birthplace?
Talk about it….
Born in Alhambra, CA, raised in El Monte, CA. till 3 years old.
Have not been back there,…been in this area since.
Worked in Alhambra for a few years and had a girlfriend that lived in El Monte. We are related.

I grew up in Alhambra!
Aberdeen, Washington
My grandma grew up in Hoquiam, right there. When I was a kid I’d go to see them in Forks, WA.
UCSF – 4th generation California girl
San Diego. I lived there as a kid and an adult, and it’s a beautiful, happy city. I miss it.
Born in Southern California (Covina) and have been back many times but not so much anymore after losing my Father. Moved to the bay 30 years ago.
I used to live in Covina. Went to high school there before moving to the Bay Area.
Nunya, BZ
Hey I’ve been there back 1983. Was hot as all get out from what I remember. Nice place though.
Born in San Francisco, California at Saint Mary’s Hospital. Grew up in the Bayview and Portola Districts when they were mostly Italians and Maltese. There was very little crime back then, and it was safe to take a bus or walk all over the City.
The Bayview was known as Butcher Town, because there were several slaughterhouses in the area.
I too was born in San Francisco at Kaiser Hospital on Potrero Hill and raised in the Excelsior neighborhood. My Dad was a SF Fireman for 30 years as was his Dad. Proud to say I am a 3rd generation San Franciscan.
Also San Francisco at SF General. Mostly raised in the Mission district, moved around a lot in other states and back to finish school in SF. Even after moving to the East Bay I commuted to SF for work. At that time commute by BART was much better.
Born in San Francisco at St Marys Hospital on Stanyan Street. Second oldest of five kids growing up in the Sunset by GG Park. Third generation San Franciscan. Great times growing up in the city.
Mt. Diablo Hospital Concord.
Swedish Covenant Hospital, Chicago a long time ago.
My cousin worked there, before moving to Ravenswood Hospital..

Was he or she there in thirty nine. If they were there it was a very rainy Sunday from what I remember.
No Ricardoh, not until early to mid 80’s. How did you remember the rain? LOL

Missouri loves company.
So it would seem. I tell people that I wasn’t born in Nashville, but I got here as soon as I could.
Born in Columbia, NORTH Carolina (in the easternmost swamp/sound/salt marsh region of that state).
Raised in the Capital city, Raleigh, NC.
Transferred from Duke University out here to Cal Berkeley.
We’ve lived here in Concord since 1960
Oyster Bay, New York.
I heard of that place:
Grand Forks, North Dakota. According to my brother it’s going to be close to 30 below 0 this weekend; and that’s not factoring in the wind chill. Moved to California after college.
Copenhagen Denmark. I grew up 30 miles south of Copenhagen in the country. I left Denmark in Dec 28 1966 to come to the US as an au pair, I wanted to improve my English and I had always been fascinated by the US, and I had already been to England. I stayed in Westport Ct, until October 1968, then went back to Denmark for 3 months, lived part of the time in Copenhagen and got a job for the Holidays. I missed the US had girl friends and a boyfriend here and returned end of December 1968. I stayed in Westport for a month then moved to New York City. From that time on I would go back to Denmark every other year for Christmas. When I got married I would go about twice a year, often with my American husband and stayed at my parents place. After my parents passed away I would go less often and usually stay with my cousin in Copenhagen. I still had and still have girl friends in Denmark and Sweden and like to visit. Since 2005 I have been back less often, but my cousin and girl friends have visited me here.
I’m sorry Hanne where did you say you were born again?
Rude, Aunt Barbara, just rude.
Thank you, Hanne. You seem to have had a vibrant, fascinating life…. and I admire how versatile you are re job history, too.
OMG, you were born in Denmark? That is WHOLE NEW INFORMATION!
Hanne you are the only person on this sight that everyone knew where you were born before this question. I was just trying to be funny. Keep telling us. We love it.
Wow. Just wow.
Do you people who are mean old men and mean old women enjoy being mean?
“All you’re ever gonna be is mean.” T. Swift.
@JJ….And?….Just stay off my lawn…https://youtu.be/NelBNtNm8l0
@JJ I learned everything I know right here on Claycord, mainly from Silva and Antler … oh, yeah, and Atticus Thraxx. I used to be a sweetheart. 😇
Jeez, what happened over here? You people have no sense of shame. It looks like you decided to be old bullies in your second childhoods, you’re acting like an uncontrolled pack of Chiguaguas or something. No wonder you have nothing else to do. You can’t possibly have friends. I feel sorry for them if you have families who have to deal with you, it can’t be easy.
Hanne, I am 100% sure there are many more people who enjoy your interesting and informative posts, than these few resident trolls with their sad, boring, lonely lives. I like hearing about the places you’ve seen and known and the times you’ve had in your adventures and exploits, and I thank you!!
Umm, the question is “where were you born?”
Born in Detroit-Motor city. Great place to grow up in the 60s. Grew up listening to Motown. Ended up out here after graduating from college and was hired by HP.

Earlier this week, we told you that roughly half the people in the country can get benefits under a settlement that the FTC and others reached with Equifax. Now, you can now find out if you were affected by the September 2017 breach and make your claim for benefits.

Actually, SOS, that’s not a bad point.
A little info here, a little there, pretty soon you have enough to hot-wire a credit card or rip off a PayPal account.
That’s why I never answer those questions truthfully on Facebook. But everybody here is pretty much anonymous, so it doesn’t really matter.
To answer the question, I was born in a manger in Bethlehem.
Saying what city you were born in 50, 60 70 years ago is no big deal. People say all the time on this blog what city they live in, and that’s no big deal either. 99% of us are blogging anonymously. Relax.

I was born in a house, not a hospital, but with a doctor in attendance. My brother was likewise born in a house but the doctor got his name wrong. We both ended up with the same name. He didn’t discover it until years later when he applied for a passport.
