The “Water Cooler” is a feature on CLAYCORD.com where we will ask you a question or provide a topic, and you will talk about it.
The “Water Cooler” will be up Monday-Friday at noon.
Today’s question:
QUESTION: Who is your favorite President of the United States (living or dead)?
Talk about it….
John F. Kennedy
Abraham Lincoln
Teddy Roosevelt.
Ronald Reagan 🇺🇸
He, Ronald Reagan, was my favorite too.
I was finally old enough to vote, learning about the Dem’s & Rep’s too.
It was a growing time and eye opener for me about politics.
Yep!!
Me too
In my lifetime President Trump. How can you not like Washington and Lincoln? Even an old democrat like FDR did some good things. Truman had the guts to drop the bomb. Biden would have given Japan the bomb to give them a fighting chance.
Truman also had the guts to have a sign on his desk that read: The buck stops here. Both Kennedy and Eisenhower opined that the President is ultimately responsible for their decisions. Other presidents could learn from that.
Reagan. He won 49 states and 525 electoral votes in his second term. He was a popular man.
President Obama. Intelligent, articulate, calm.
Don’t forget Joe also said he was clean.
Ricardoh – Ha! You Nailed it.
Biden’s full quote in reference to Obama was “ I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” Biden said. “I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”
Always Right
And now this dunce is the president. I still can’t believe they say he got 80 million votes. Makes no sense.
Caroline: have some more pyschedelic mushrooms!
Obama is the reason USA is in this pickle!
Reagan!
It usually comes down to voting for the lesser of two evils, so not a single one in my lifetime. They make empty promises only to get elected for self-serving purposes as do 99% of all politicians.
In my lifetime, number 1: Ronald Reagan, number 2: Donald Trump.
Of all of them, include Washington and Jefferson.
ClayDen got it right on the nose! Loved Reagan; even visited his grave.
Trump got even more done than the Gipper. (Reagan) Got to mention Ike in this contest too …. Great military leader and statesman as well.
Harry S Truman because of his ability to use nuclear weapons to end W. W.II. By serving in the military himself he knew the horrors of war which helped I believe to shape that critical and controversial decision. His strategic thinking in implementing the Marshall Plan after the war helped to bring back western Europe to a vibrant and economic society. For a Vice President to be thrown into the spotlight of the President; a position he never wanted after the death of F.D.R, he achieved greatness under incredible challenges.
Truman is the most underrated by far
George Washington. He was not only a great president, he was also a great general. He led us through, and won the Revolutionary War, and helped draft the US Constitution. He demonstrated superb leadership during a time of war. As president, his administrative skills proved to be in line with his vision for America, he managed the economy, kept moving the country forward, and had a good relationship with congress. He fought for equal justice for all, and performed well as president within the context of the times.
By the way, I noticed that Google isn’t celebrating Presidents Day. You can usually see some sort of celebration of historical figures and events when you hover over their name. I guess they are too woke to be patriotic.
The California State University system doesn’t observe Presidents Day either; they celebrate Cesar Chavez Day instead.
ClayDen wrote that CSU does not acknowledge Presidents’ Day. This is a “cut and paste” from the CSU East Bay calendar:
February 15, 2021 Monday President’s Day
The university is open on Presidents Day, but it is closed on Cesar Chavez Day. So it is apparently more important to close for Cesar Chavez than for our Presidents.
President George Washington
Ronald Regan
Not living…Ronald Reagan
Living…Donald Trump[
TRUMP!!!
Reagan.
Second is not even close.
Afraid that question will open a can of worms these days. Not going to say because I might get mud in my eye to say the least.
There is one answer- Teddy Roosevelt. He’s the man you want your son to be and your daughter to bring home.
1. Lincoln
2. Reagan
3. Teddy Roosevelt
Honorable mentions to Trump and Eisenhower.
Gonna have to agree with your order and your honorable mentions!
Ronald Reagan. He had really great cabinet members and others on his administration.
1 … Ronald Reagan
2 … Donald Trump
3 … Bush senior
Best Comedy of the week, … “President Obama. Intelligent, articulate, calm.”
@OG
I laugh too…intelligent, perhaps, just didn’t demonstrate anything overwhelming, articulate? only when he stayed on teleprompter or was preaching socialism, otherwise, he was a bumbling stuttering fool, and calm, more like indifferent or detached. Those are my opinions of him.
Washington
Barack Obama
Ronald Regan
George Washington! We would not be here if it wasn’t for him. In my lifetime, Ronald Reagan followed by Donald Trump.
If it wasn’t for Washington, there would be no Fourth of July celebration, and we’d all have British accents..
Obama
Carter
Harding
Buchanan
LOL
Well Played, well played Sir
President Reagan, followed by President Trump.
Ronald Reagan
Reagan was a mediocre actor who became a great president.
Obama was a mediocre president who became a great actor.
On the basis of Jefferson’s famous aphorism, “That government is best which governs least”, I have to go with Chester Arthur.

Hands down George Washington.
Modern Day-
#1-Donald Trump. The Great Disruptor. To paraphrase Michael Moore. He was a big giant F#@! You to the ruling elites.
Michael Moore???!!! Like A-O-C he is of no value!
Theodore Roosevelt
If I have to explain, you wouldn’t understand! A true progressive…not like the milk toast, weak willed progressives of today.
“The policy of the American government is to leave its citizens free, neither restraining them nor aiding them in their pursuits.”
-Thomas Jefferson
Probably Washington, but I have the greatest respect for all of our founding fathers. I admire Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, and Reagan, not only for their accomplishments, but the strength of their character.
I don’t particularly admire Jackson, but I do acknowledge that he accomplished great things. That his character was terribly flawed cannot be denied, but kept the country together during a time when there was much support for dissolving the union. And his foresight and policies were directly responsible for implementing the manifest destiny that became America, “from sea to shining sea.”
Reagan – No contest
Now about Carter, Harding,Obama, and Buchanan – the four worst, most ineffective, and clueless presidents ever! – Biden will soon join them
And in about a year, so will Kamala.
In my lifetime, Donald J. Trump. Under his administration more human traffickers have been arrested and children recovered and he has brought more peace than any other president in my lifetime (Plus 50 years) and not started any new wars.
Prior I would have to go with Washington and Lincoln for their obvious accomplishments given the happenings during their time as President.

Lincoln because he ended slavery
John K Kennedy just because
K … F…. whatever, just because….
John F. Kennedy, not because he was the greatest, but he was the first one I paid attention to, even in my native Denmark he got a lot of press coverage, and my girl friends and I (we were teen agers) were fascinated by his charm, looks and good looking wife and cute kids. My Dad who was well read and followed foreign politics admired Kennedy for his policies especially how he dealt with Russia. Of course as I got older I learned more about his policies, I admired how he dealt with the Cuban Missile Crisis, several of his speeches on civil rights, his Berlin speech is very inspiring.
Of course Washington and Lincoln has to be mentioned, I also liked both Roosevelts, and Obama, he liked Kennedy had charisma and was an eloquent speaker, since I lean left I liked most of his policies. As for eloquent speakers I have to mention Reagan, even though I did not agree with most of his policies.
The best president we never had Robert F. Kennedy.
Grover Cleveland and James A. Garfield because they have the best president Names
Nobody selected Jefferson Davis !!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MR. PRESIDENT !!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~”Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master. Experience has taught us that it is much easier to prevent an enemy from posting themselves than it is to dislodge them after they have got possession, and when the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.” ~ George Washington
The Best We Ever Had !!!

I have to agree with JG. I listed the ones in my lifetime above; but there can be none more responsible for our great heritage than Washington. I just finished reading a short novel about the development of his relationship with Martha “Patsy” Dandridge. It’s titled “Mount Vernon Love Story” by Mary Higgins Clark. Fabulous insight into what kind of a man he really was. The very best.
Washington, Lincoln, Reagan,Trump
…and Grant. And maybe Tyler, too..
Ronald Reagan. I was a Democrat, and didn’t vote for him either time. But, when he was all done, I realized what a remarkable man he was. Trump is a close second for other reasons. He performed remarkably well considering he was maligned by Democrats from the moment he announced he would run. I wonder how different things would have been if Democrats had dropped their petty partisan squabbling and cooperated with him to move the country forward.
Admire Truman’s honesty and fiscal conservatism, Lincoln’s ability to persevere through his crippling depression and personal tragedies, Washington’s courage & leadership, Reagan & Trump’s support of the common man and their economic triumphs, T.Roosevelt’s environmentalism, F.Roosevelt’s stability and perseverance.
JFK – he was the last great strong leader – standing up to the USSR & Cuba …no one now has the guts
Myself.
1. Washington
2. Roosevelt
3. The other Roosevelt
Reagan (deceased) and Trump (living).
Both were not career politicians.
“Clean the Swamp”
1. Donald J. Trump
2. Ronald Reagan
3. Anybody other than Joe Biden and Barack Obama
I did well from Reganonomics. I vote for Ronnie.
