Six additional deaths were reported today. What’s unusual is that it was one death in each of the age ranges 41 to 50, 51 to 60, 61 to 70, 71 to 80, 81 to 90, and Over 90

That seemed like a data glitch but by community it’s:

Antioch: 1 LTCF
Concord: 1 community
Hercules: 2 community
San Pablo: 1 community
Other/Unspecified: 1 community

and by date of death it’s:

02/23/2021 1 community
03/04/2021 1 community
03/11/2021 1 community
03/15/2021 1 community
03/16/2021 1 community
03/17/2021 1 LTCF

Still awaiting a reply to my question of:
Since When did government ever care about our health and well-being?

Your answer had better not be about seat belt or helmet laws.

Well, if you’re going to eliminate actual times that the government made laws for our health and safety, simply because you wanna whine about a piece of cloth and washing your hands… I can say gravity doesn’t exist, and say prove it without bringing up things falling, going down hill and all the stuff on earth staying on earth…

Oh and as per your question, OSHA comes to mind… Oh yeah, a government run group thats solely focused on keeping you from hurting yourself at work…

@ERas
Do you actually believe everything you just wrote? Those health and safety laws don’t have anything to do with the government caring about people, it’s all about MONEY!!!

@Cyn
How is it not about keeping people safe? Its literally an organization that creates rules and regulations to keep your boss from making you do something stupid and getting hurt… Its a simple concept…

Do you realize that required safety procedures / equipment tend to slow down production a bit, and the business doesn’t make quite as much profit and therefore pays less in taxes… costing the government money…

I’m not saying everybody in government gives a crap, but to say that NO ONE cares… thats kind of cynical.

ERas, your reply doesn’t warrant a response. You can head over to Deer Hill in Lafayette and see the crosses of 8,000 service men and women Killed whIle fighting Corporate “wars”.
Then we have the Contra Costa Health dept who has NEVER kept record of flu deaths of those over 65 years of age. And also, the flu making a disappearing act for all of 2020, LMFAO!

Finally, as “conspiracy theorists” have pointed out for the past 11 months that PCR testing is Highly inaccurate if running too many cycles. …..and BINGO, conveniently after January 20th……they have now Lowered the cycle threshold and the numbers have Magically gone down.
Time to Wake up.

“your reply doesn’t warrant a response”… responds anyway… ok then…

Also, the flu… really? you’re gonna use the flu angle… wow, ok, here ya go:
The Flu deaths are reported (simple Google search can locate those), the flu is scarce this yeah because, oh I don’t know… maybe people are staying away from each other, wearing protective equipment and washing their hands… Seems to make sense that a virus like the flu would be lessened by a community of people that are taking precautions against another virus that is similarly spread… Hmmm… Weird huh??

Ok, yeah, the PCR tests are bad, but they had to scramble to create something, the newer tests are far more accurate. Could the numbers have been higher than they actually are because of false positives? Yes. Could they be lower too? Again, yes. We will never know.

Oh and are you pulling all your info from conspiracy theorists? That would explain a lot of your misinformation…

Oh and I’m not even gonna deal with the crosses comment… thats just insulting to the memories of those people.

@ERas
I never said it DIDN’T KEEP PEOPLE SAFE OR THAT NO ONE CARES. I said it’s about money………..it’s always about the money.

The best is when people have a mask on, are already 6 feet away from you and still turn there back to you when you’re on a walk/hike. Or when a bicyclist pulls there mask up when spending what like a milli second passing you. If you’re wearing a mask to much your body can’t build antibodies. Oh well. I just laugh at those folks.

@Sam Some stores won’t let you in without one.

chris farnitano, anna roth OPEN US UP!!

chris farnitano is corrupt and probably paid off.

Walensky gets on the the news and said she is scared of another Covid wave. Biden announces he wants all the Governors to renew mask mandates; it’s imperative.

Meanwhile at the border thousands of illegals continue to be admitted huddled side by side, and few are even tested. Next they’re bused or flown to cities in various states.

These actions can only mean two of three things:
-They are purposely creating a nationwide super-spreader event.
-They think there is no danger.
-They are really stupid.

Which is it? Because it can’t be all three. Citizens deserve a real answer.

NEW: Texas COVID numbers continue to rapidly fall; all restrictions were lifted 18 days ago.

@eras
So what exactly are you saying? Are you saying that people are sick and dying from COVID in Texas but we just don’t know it’s the COVID because they are not testing? You seem to know everything and want the last word here. So what is your reasoning? You know, everyone says it’s not political but it’s literally blue states vs red states on everything. Everyone thinks they are smarter then the others. Are you implying that red states are purposely ignoring COVID and causing death? Are you implying blue states are doing the smart thing and if so please explain why cuomo is under investigation and newsom is being recalled. Also explain why Texas and Florida are doing so well. Your whole argument plays to a small group of arrogant bay area leftists who think they are better then everyone else. Are you one of those? Because where I come from, we call that white privilege.

Yes, I sleep like a baby

I thought about this and believe the best way to compare regions is to look at the positivity rate. It’s also the best way to look at how a region is doing over time. The positivity rate is the percentage of infected people found when you test. Other values, such as the number of new cases, or the case rate, are dependent on the size of the population and/or the number of tests.

Google for ‘covid-19 positivity rate by state’ finds https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/public-health/states-ranked-by-covid-19-test-positivity-rates-july-14.html which has:
Idaho: 27.5 percent positive

Texas: 6.9

California: 1.5

At present Idaho is worse in the nation, Texas is middling, and California is the best in the nation.

The flu is tracked every year and has been tracked for decades. https://www.cdph.ca.gov/programs/cid/dcdc/pages/immunization/flu-reports.aspx has the last 20 years of reports for California.

Some of the best ways to avoid catching the flu are avoiding close contact with people, wearing masks, being mindful of what you touch and washing hands afterwards if needed, avoid touching your face, and getting vaccinated. The social distancing, masks, etc. people are using to lower the chances of catching COVID-19 have resulted in fewer than normal incidents of flu this season. Normally there are several hundred flu deaths each season in California. So far for California it’s 44 deaths or a tenth of a normal flu season.
