An 18-year-old San Ramon resident was arrested by Walnut Creek Police on robbery charges, according to the Walnut Creek Police Department.
Police say on Saturday night, officers responded to a robbery on Lincoln Avenue where the suspect brandished a handgun and stole the victim’s wallet.
The investigating officer identified the suspect as Nicholas Ostrovskiy.
On Sunday, detectives served a search and arrest warrant at Ostroviskiy’s residence in San Ramon. Oastroviskiy was safely taken into custody, and the handgun used in this robbery was seized, police said.
Oastroviskiy is currently being held in the county jail in Martinez.
The slide and barrel are not standard from the factory…this was a pretty nice customized gun.
I could be wrong but the magazine, in contrast, looks like a cheap knock-off of the factory magazine.
Yea it’s a ghost
I could be wrong but the magazine, in contrast, looks like a cheap knock-off of the factory magazine. Why he’d spend money on a slide and barrel but then go with a cheap verision of the magazine doesn’t make sense.
That’s an ETS magazine. It’s not cheap knockoff, they’re actually pretty standard and sold all over the place. They also have a great mag feeder.
Chances are, it’s a stolen gun and he took the red dot sight off of it so it would conceal better in the front of his waistband “gangster style”.
Well seeing as how the robbery didn’t make any sense, you have your answer.
Police Station is across the street and down a few steps, the young man doesn’t sound too bright..
Clearly, this guy isn’t a good decision maker.
I mean, he could at least illegally obtain the proper OEM magazine before he uses his illegal gun to rob people.
Maybe next time.
We should now cut his hands off, so everyone will know what type of person this is, and then he wont do much like in the future, and then maybe he will learn his lesson for the future.
In that case, he wouldn’t be able to work and support himself. He would be legally disabled and taxpayers would be supporting him for the rest of his life on public assistance. Why punish taxpayers like that?
So you’re a proponent of imposition of Sharia Law in the United States?
Are the tic tacs contraband?
They are smart pills. He was robbing to get a stronger prescription.
Looks like the new WCPD Chief actually lets his officers do their jobs unlike the last two….
What is Nicholas’ immigration status?
“Russian collusion”
No slap on the wrist make him face full punishment period.
+1
Nice work by WCPD. Drugs, those don’t look like TicTacs in the baggie.

The frame and slide are not Glock parts. The frame is a Polymer 80 80% frame, which is a frame that is 80% completed and needs to be finish machined by the buyer to qualify as a firearm. You do not need a NICS check to purchase these frames as the ATF does not consider them firearms until they are completed. In many states, they do not need to be registered once completed. I don’t think they are legal in California because they don’t contain the required amount of steel to stamp a serial number on the frame. You can own the 80% frame in California, but you cannot finish it and make a handgun (legally.) They are legal in almost every other state, of course.
The slide is not a Glock part either. I’m not sure who makes it. Maybe Brownells or Grey Ghost Precision.
The magazine is probably an Elite Tactical Systems mag. It’s aftermarket.
It looks like a Glock (kind of) but isn’t a Glock.
Hopefully DA Becton will take her anger out on this guy, and make an example of him.
Sounds like he was living at home, and making a little cash by robbing people.Scum.
I believe DA Becton allows prosecutions of those living in the Orinda to San Ramon corridor. It’s those from everywhere else that get a free pass.
Was he too lazy to shop lift 1000 dollars a Day? Just askin’
Multiple names or lack of attention to detail by WCPD? Ostrovskiy or Oastroviskiy?
Could have made more running out of Target, Macy’s or Nieman Marcus with a handful of merchandise and not worry about be prosecuted.
@ Chris
So true!!!
Chris , you don’t have to run out of any store. You can leisurely shop and fill your bag . Then you walk by the people at the check stands that are paying for their items , right out the door , load up your car . Nobody from the store will stop you . That is the society we live in now .
Probably out of jail by now. No bail!
He NEEDED the guys wallet so it’s all good.

Be aware who is watching when at the ATM’s downtown The creeps come out at night and can follow you.
Good advice. When living in Southern California about 30 years ago I was direct witness to an armed robbery at an ATM in broad daylight on a bright Memorial Day morning. There were about six people in line, including me. It was shocking.
As a result, I always look around me before inserting my card into an ATM. If I have doubts I walk away.
CCCounty only has 1 DA for a pop of over 1 million people
Isn’t it time we split into 3 or more jurisdictions?
There should be priority made in the county budget for it asap
Central County (C,PH,WC,lamorinda, SR Valley) deserve a DA who is not a Marxist activist and who will prosecute BLM rioters and other criminals
WC especially is becoming a go-to place for shoplifters and petty crime
We need a DA who is looking out for the hard working middle-class people not a Soros clown
Any idiot who pulls out a gun to rob a couple hundred dollars is completely amateur. Just as a weak ass example The guys who do Fake phone call scams make that amount easily probably more than that a day without ever risking a felony arrest. You rarely ever hear about an armed robbery in Concord or Walnut Creek when they get away with it.
A Great job police thanks for all that you do
Kinda hard to sneak up on someone with those tic tacs rattling in your pocket!
You’re right, Russ. He was a “sideler”. Jerry and Elaine called it, right.(?)
The victims probably heard him sideling up to them before he pulled the gun.
