Thank you. Hope under-12s will have a vaccine soon

Hope you are joking
If not, glad you have no say in my children’s health and I feel sorry for your children if you have any

Totally normal thing to hope for –

That kids under 12 can get an experimental vaccine with no long term studies about possible side effects to protect them against a disease that presents almost no threat to them.

PuffAndStuff

It’s sad if you’re a parent that you have say in your kids lifes. You’re going to bash someone for hoping to get kids vaccinated and telling them they are an unfit parent for doing so? Just sad.

Mitch.

You do understand that pretty much every drug and vaccine on the market was experimental at one time. Those vaccines you took when you were younger. Those medicines you take for a headache and everything else. Yes. And yes you’re probably going to stay well that was a long time ago these have been proven now. Well so has the vaccines that are out. They have less of a risk then most other vaccines and other medications. Saying covid is not threat. Tell that to all the people have died. Tell that to my 3 family members and 2 friends that died due to Covid.

There hasn’t really been a lot of study so far on the safety profile of these vaxx specifically for young people. Their danger from Covid is near zero. So I don’t think the FDA should be in a hurry to approve it for under 12. It’s not an emergency for that age range, so an Emergency Use Authorization isn’t appropriate. Adults don’t need small kids to get vaccinated in order to be protected.

@ConcordRez…CHILD ABUSE!

I thought their were only 1.1 million people living in CoCo County. Maybe people came from other county’s to get vaccinated. Either way we must be reaching a high number here and should start open with NO MASKS.

The numbers are a little confusing. I think the “partially vaccinated” number includes all of the fully vaccinated as well (so it’s # of people who are AT-LEAST partially vaccinated). So 610k of those are fully vaccinated, 102k ONLY partially vaccinated. This more closely jives with the overall doses number. If the vast majority of fully vaccinated were 2-shot, then that’s 1.2M doses, plus 100k 1st-shots = 1.3M doses. But still only 700k people.

I think that’s further complicated by the people who got the J&J one shot vaccine.

The number Claycord picked is misleading.

621,651 people have been fully vaccinated which is 62.9% of the county population that’s age 12 or higher. The county defines fully vaccinated as “These individuals have received two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.”

The county also reports the number of partially vaccinated people and confusingly defines it as “These individuals have received at least one dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.” If that’s accurate then people receiving the Johnson & Johnson vaccine are counted twice. The current number of partially vaccinated people is 721,620.

The county does not report on the numbers of vaccines administered by the type of vaccine. Thus we don’t know how many people received Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine.

It’s also not clear if and how the county records Kaiser vaccinations. Kaiser is a multi-county healthcare organization meaning gets their own vaccine supply that’s not included in the county’s reporting. However, Kaiser and the county are jointly running vaccination centers such as the drive up site at Concord’s Waterworld.

If you feel you want to continue to wear a mask, please, by all means, do so.

The rest of us Liberty-Loving Americans will henceforth and forever remember that masks are not the reason why COVID has become so much less virulent; it’s washing your damned hands, getting a vaccine and getting plenty of mask-free outdoors exercise.

#FreeCalifornia #FireNewsome

@Whodat Gurl (and others) I just don’t understand all the rude comments directed toward those who wear a mask. These mask wearers are not infringing on others’ rights. Let it go. Also, I do believe that wearing a mask, social distancing, outdoors, etc reduce the spread of Covid; however, my personal opinion is that constant hand washing does little to stop the spread of an air borne virus. Again, I just wish the mask wearers and non mask wearers would stop the constant complaining about either side.

@TTD

It’s the same thing with those who want to wear a mask. Y’all mask wearers judge those who don’t. Also my family and extended family and I didn’t change a thing. We still got together. We didn’t let this virus separate us. We didn’t let it get the best of us. We didn’t let it control us. Throughout this whole thing, I know one person who died of a heart attack, one who died of a drug over dose, and three people were diagnosed with cancer but NO ONE I know or anyone in my family doesn’t know of anyone who got Covid or died from COVID. So it can be hard at times to believe if this virus is real or not. Or as deadly as they say it is.

@wtp, just an FYI, my last sentence was that I wish that both mask and mask less people would stop bashing the other side for their choices that they make in regard to mask wearing.

So why are the bums not following masks and social distance protocols

Why are the bums allowed to be free
why we and our children are being government run like a lab experiment

Now there may be issue with the vaxx causing autoimmune illness, in addition to other problems people are experiencing. So let’s just hope and pray things work out for everyone that got vaxxed. There may be a much rougher road ahead…

@America, I assume you are referring to the video that has been circulating claiming Covid vaccines could cause autoimmune disease. The video was made by a nurse practitioner. The AP did a fact check on the video. They reached out to the nurse practitioner, asking her for evidence. She e-mailed them a 2018 journal article from a respected researcher and expert in mRNA technology. The AP then contacted that researcher. He said the Covid-19 vaccines use a new kind of mRNA which would not cause autoimmune disease. Modified mRNA vaccines have been given to people for five years. The researcher said there is no data to suggest the vaccines could cause autoimmune disease, nor has he seen or heard of a single report of mRNA causing autoimmune disease.
