Sweltering three-digit temperatures are in store for some parts of the Bay Area on Memorial Day, prompting a heat advisory from the National Weather Service.

The advisory lasts from noon to 9 p.m. Monday, when highs in the 90s to 105 are forecast for the North Bay mountains and valleys, East Bay interior valleys, East Bay hills and the Diablo Range, the weather service said.

Areas close to the ocean will be cooled by sea breezes, keeping daytime highs in the 70s. Around San Francisco Bay, temperatures will be in the 80s and lower 90s.

Precautions should be taken for people susceptible to heat-related illnesses, such as the elderly, infants, and those without access to air conditioning, the weather service advises.

Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.

After 9 pm, still 78 degrees, neighbors all have their AC running and there’s no wind. Thought them windmills were supposed to help out on really hot days.
Oh, so reason days are hot is there’s little to no westerly wind to cool us off. See, they thought of everything . . . . .

some like it hot (me). moved here for the heat.

thank goodness we don’t have a boat load of plug in EVs that will cause a brown out…

Don’t walk you dog today. The heat on the ground is going to be hotter then the air temperature.

In hot weather put some of those back pocket sized bottled drinking water in the freezer. If you need to be outside take a frozen one and put it in your back pocket. For starters you get a bit of contact cooling and as water melts you can drink small amounts cold water to lower body core temperature.

At work ha a full size fridg. on coldest setting full up with bottled water.
Heat stroke can sneak up on you if you’re working outside on a hot day.
