Contra Costa County Fire Protection District (Con Fire) today announced its fire investigators made an overnight arrest in multiple car fires set at a dealership and a neighboring restaurant in Pittsburg.
Arrested was Jesse Jackson, 37, a resident of Pittsburg, on two counts of PC 451 Arson to Property and one count of PC 1203.2 Probation Violation.
A Con Fire investigator responded to a vehicle fire in the 2100 block of Railroad Ave. in Pittsburg in the early morning hours of July 6. Arriving on scene he found four vehicles burning – three at a car dealership and one at a nearby Jack in the Box restaurant. Fire crews quickly extinguished the fires. An immediate investigation produced surveillance video from the restaurant and nearby businesses, which revealed a description of a male suspect.
Conducting an area search, the investigator located the subject on Atlantic Avenue, approximately two blocks from the incident, where he was detained, arrested and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
