Another hot weekend is in store for much of the Bay Area.

The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch in effect from 11 a.m. Friday through 9 p.m. Monday for the interior valleys, foothills and mountains primarily in the far northern and eastern edges of the greater Bay Area and beyond.

High temperatures will range from 100 to 115 degrees, with overnight lows mainly in the upper 60s to mid 80s.

Cooler temperatures will prevail closer to the bay and are anticipated to arrive Thursday, a day before the heat warning takes effect.

The hottest temperatures are expected in a few areas — including San Jose, the interior valley from Pleasanton north to Martinez, and north of the bay in inland parts of Sonoma and Marin counties.

I hate that when it happens.

Me too, I guess it is time to crank up the AC full speed.

🙁 me too

+1

Oh this is the last straw!
Count me out… I QUIT!

I hope the Wind turbines and solar panels are cranking up because my thermostat will be @ 65 and that ain’t no jive.

LOL……That was fresh!!!!

“I saw Satan laughing with delight…”

And we sang dirges in the dark.

Get your generators ready for the “blackouts because it’s hot” event.

Out here in the land of tules and pontoon boats our power goes out every time some drunk plows into a phone pole…. and it happens alot! Does not matter how hot it is.

I’m going to put my fans on high.

Suggestion, put some bottled water in freezer, if power does go out will help keep things cool. if you have to go outside put a frozen bottle in back pocket. Will give you some contact cooling and when you need a drink, small amount of melted water cools your core body temperature and you don’t end up drinking whole bottle at once.

After sunset as outside temp goes below indoor temp, open couple widows higher up wall than others and set in 20″ box fans pointing out, then open widows at other end of house. Fans run all night, as cool air travels thru house building materials give up heat that they built up during the day.
By morning house has dropped usually below 68 degrees.

Recently supervised Grandson as he figured out then installed two Lomanco 12 in. galvanized steel whirlybird attic exhaust turbines on attic roof. Between box included instructions and manufacture video, for being a tool novice he did a perfect job. When wind blows they do a good job of venting hot air out of attic and will help shingle roof will last longer.

You know OG….. it only takes one skunk to destroy that plan.

We have attic fans and a whole house fan to cool the house at night. We bought a generator a couple of years ago so that we can keep our refrigerator and chest freezer running when the power inevitably goes out because apparently CA can’t figure out how to produce sufficient power on hot days. It may be a Spare the Air day when the power goes out, but we’re firing up the generator. I don’t want to throw out hundreds of dollars worth of meat and other food items because of blackouts.

Love our Honda generator.
