Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS) has released tips on how to celebrate safely this holiday season.

The following information is from CCHS:

CCHS encourages everyone to celebrate safely and protect themselves and their loved ones from COVID-19. Getting vaccinated is the best way to lower the risk of getting or spreading COVID-19, especially during holiday gatherings.

Let’s work together to keep ourselves, our family and our friends safe while enjoying the holidays.

  • Key Actions to Lower Your Risk
  • Get Vaccinated
  • Our single best protection against COVID-19 is vaccination.
  • All the vaccines are safe, effective and free for anyone who is 5 or older.
  • Get your first dose by November 19 to be fully protected for Christmas, Kwanzaa and end-of-year gatherings.
  • You can protect those too young to be vaccinated by making sure those around them are vaccinated.

Wear a Mask

  • Wear a well-fitted mask over your nose and mouth if you’re in public indoor spaces.
  • A mask is required in most indoor public spaces in Contra Costa County, regardless of vaccination status.
  • Get Tested
  • Attending a gathering or event increases your chance of being exposed to COVID-19.
  • Testing is a healthy choice for people who attend gatherings – whether or not they develop symptoms.
  • Three to seven days after a gathering is the best time to test.
  • If you think you’ve been exposed to COVID-19 or develop symptoms, learn when to quarantine and isolate.

Take Precautions if You Travel

  • If possible, delay travel if you are not vaccinated or feeling sick
  • Masks are required on public transportation, such as planes and buses

Avoid crowds

  • Get tested before and after your trip

Safer Celebrations

  • Gathering virtually or in-person only with people you live with is the safest choice. If you do gather with others:
  • Smaller gatherings are safer than larger ones.
  • Outdoors is safer than indoors.
  • Avoid crowded, poorly ventilated spaces.
  • If you gather indoors, open windows and doors to bring in fresh air, or put a fan in an open window.
  • If you feel sick, stay home and don’t host any gatherings.

How can I protect my unvaccinated family members?

  • Get vaccinated yourself.
  • Be sure everyone in your family who is 5 or older is fully vaccinated.
  • Wear a mask. You might choose to have everyone at your gathering wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status.

I don’t remember ever asking for guidance from idiots. These guys are like the most annoying girl at the bar SNL bit. Nobody want to hear anything they have to say. Can we defund yet?

Is this real, or was it written by the Grinch?

Wear a mask while cowering-in-place by yourself.

Get the vaccine even though you still have to wear a mask and it’s still too dangerous to give mom a hug even after you have been fully vaccinated.

Have a virtual good time because the Health Department has determined that Joy and Peace spread the Communist Chinese Virus.

Keep the windows open even if it is freezing cold so you won’t go broke heating your home.

And finally, Joe Biden has upped inflation big time, so now is a perfect time to go on a diet or fast for Thanksgiving (which is a racist holiday anyway).

I second that!

Natural immunity is the single best defense. Our immune system has evolved over millions of years to handle these specific viruses native to our planet, let the immune system do the job it literally evolved for. For those that are afraid, get the vaccine if it makes you feel safe. Otherwise let nature do what it does and get your own natural immunity that will actually last and not require boosters (lol).

Is evolution now anti-science? Or have we come full circle and believe our immune system is only 2021 years old?

From the Guardian yesterday:
People testing negative for Covid-19 despite exposure may have ‘immune memory’

There you have it but I bet the local “health experts” would reject this because it doesn’t fit the party line. I’ve known about the T-cell role in immunity since the 1970s. Where has everyone else been? It was found to be important in understanding how some people naturally can kill off cancer.

This has Got to be Satire!!

BTW, if hospitals are turning away the unvaccinated……just who exactly are filling up the hospitals???

It’s funny how the CCC Department of Health never actually promotes anything healthy, i.e. getting fresh air and sunshine, staying active, eating healthy food, taking vitamins, reducing stress, etc. It’s just vaccinate, vaccinate, vaccinate. All they do is promote misery, fear and pharma propaganda.

Here’s some holiday celebration tips for everyone: hug your loved ones, smile, laugh and enjoy the holiday season!

RECALL/FIRE Chris Farnitano, the Co Co Medical Director. Best thing we could ever hope for; but hard to do.

Is this the new Joke Thread for Claycord?

or is the Health Department debuting their new careers, comedians?

Nothing healthy is coming from the Health Department.

I will continue to hug my family, hang with family and friends, meet with them and celebrate. The public nuisance department can go pound sand.

I have a pretty good idea of what CC Health can do with their advice.

Defund CCHS.

“All vaccines are safe…” especially these COVID vaccines that have terrible side effects. These are experimental drugs that have been in the market for less than two years. Why does it take 5-7 years to get approved??? So they can be sure they are safe!!!!!

The people at CCHS have proven to be inadequate in everything.

Why in the world would I trust them on this?

Actually, I don’t think there is anything CCHS could say that I would believe.

Great tips! I also cover myself in bubble wrap, and wear a football helmet. You can never be too safe!

.
CC Health can kiss my six.
.

I’m off to Vegas for the raider games. Wish me luck. Go raiders .

How come they always mention Christmas before Kwanzaa?

C comes before K, and Christmas comes before that made-up holiday.

Festivis comes before either of them, yet it doesn’t get any mention.

It’s the man keeping us down.

These guys are a joke! I’d be embarrassed to work for the Health Department. Actually, any California Government office at this point really…Ill be at my moms, with my kids, aunts, cousins, uncles, etc… just as we have been doing for the last almost 2 years during our lockdown…

The balls on these people. They’re lucky that the people don’t come together and revolt. As with everybody else in government, they rely on the people being stupid and compliant. Hopefully the day comes when people will begin to think for themselves, stand up and push back on this BS

This just in from the Ministry of Truth

– 2+2=5
– Our single best protection against COVID-19 is vaccination.
– An obese man is the first female four-star admiral in the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) Commissioned Corps

if you have any questions, you’re a terrorist.

– Ministry of Truth

Double plus good. But remember comrade 2+2 may and may not = 5

What about Hanukkah, Karen? Or festivus for that matter?

These people are nothing short of cultural terrorists. We must not let the marxists run this county anymore.

I’ll get you a tip CCHS, mind your own damn business.

Haha haha haha haha haha haha

Was this copied from The Onion?

Don’t forget to distance your food like 6 feet apart. Keep Mash Potatoes away from Turkey away from Cranberries.

In America, we don’t worship government, we worship God. 🇺🇸

OK, I have had a half century or so of life. I do not recall the government, whether local (city/state) or federal getting so involved in the lives of the (once free) citizenry. I mean, I have read some comments on this site from those that certainly need, or appreciate the fact that those elected or appointed “representatives” will guide them on how to live their lives, but there are many of us that know we can manage existence without even guidance from these elite nannies. Ugh….here’s a thought, instead of telling we average citizens how we can be “safer,” CCC Board, why not see what you can do about all the trash cluttering our environment due to homeless drug addicts, and I don’t mean sympathizing with them and arguing to let them be, or maybe see what in our legislative environment deters entrepreneurial individual from opening/starting their business (taxes, regulations). Just let us be, let us live.

Dear powers that be. F.O.

This only stops when we all say no.

ps. Florida for the win!

Yes, Florida for the win indeed. CA – what a nightmare. You broke our heart but now we are free in FL and loving it!!!

Could they put this on a 3 by 5 laminated card we can keep with us always and refer to regularly unless we are operating a motorized vehicle or heavy machinery?

The health department did put this on a 3 by 5 recipe card…recipe for safe holidays..they sure are good at dumbing this down to the lowest common denominator…
https://www.coronavirus.cchealth.org/safer-celebrations

So they surpassed the stupidest thing I could think of. Thank you for telling me.

WAIT , is this where they tell us to have sex with our family again or to have sex with our masks on , or not to have sex at all?

I just want to make sure I am doing it right.
Thanks for all of your guidance.

Oh I am sorry I forgot , also which positions are the safest to not spread covid.

This is life in Amerika now. The Nanny State involved in every aspect of life when it belongs in none.

All government is theft.

Fix the pot holes.

Can we have a fire in the fireplace on Thanksgiving and Christmas?🤡

I’ll bet the BAAQMD says no!

This reads like an outline put together for a high school project.
Imagine getting paid to do this stuff.

This is not a hard concept to understand
Cover your mouth when you cough
Cover your nose and mouth when you sneeze
Wash your hands regularly
Use a seat belt when driving
Wearing a mask is just common courtesy
It may not help a great deal but it does reduce the spread of germs
Common courtesy is like common sense, it is no longer very common

Does anybody take these people seriously after almost 2 years of their fear mongering? Yes I know there is a virus & people have died, people die every day for various reasons all day every week every month every year…

I wonder how many have avoided crowds, family and others over the last 2 years. I bet its the ones I see driving with their masks and plastic shields on their faces are the ones who have not talked to or seen family members for a while. I am looking for investors who feel that level 5 biohazard suits maybe a wise business to get into right now. I think you can make a fortune selling them to some of the public now.

CC Health should get back to identifying and counting cockroaches and rat poop in restaurants.

They forgot.. Don’t leave Santa cookies..He might also spread Covid coming down the chimney! Lock your doors and cancel Christmas.

Subdivisions…Conform, or be Cast Out!

The best one: “Wear a mask. You might choose to have everyone at your gathering wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status.” Can you imagine people are sitting together at Grandma’s house in masks? This is comical stuff. Who write this stuff?

By this point anything from public health authorities smacks of petty tyranny and I don’t want to hear anything from them about Covid.

But I have to say, this is the kind of statement that they should have been making from the beginning *instead* of issuing ludicrous lockdown orders and mandates. This one is framed in terms of individual decisions and involves risk reduction, not fantasies about elimination, or arbitrary and open-ended ’emergency’ lockdowns. It’s pretty normal for public health honchos to be overly risk-averse. That’s no big deal. It’s only a big deal when they are given open-ended power to enact rules and mandates because of a rolling two-year ‘state of emergency.’
