DeSaulnier Announces Legislation To Bolster Mental Health Services For Children And Families

Congressman Mark DeSaulnier announced the introduction of the Early Childhood Mental Health Support Act (H.R. 6509), a bill to bolster the mental health services provided to young children in Head Start and early childhood education centers.

“The importance of strong behavioral health support from an early age cannot be overstated,” said Congressman DeSaulnier. “Like many families across the country, I have seen firsthand that the sooner children receive support, the better their outcomes. I am proud to work with Reps. Matsui and Pressley in ensuring these services are available at Head Start and other early education facilities, which will have a positive, lasting impact on the health and wellbeing of millions of children and families while helping to support teachers.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that one in five children have a diagnosable mental disorder.

Many of these children never receive a diagnosis and do not receive the behavioral health services they need. This lack of access to care can have serious consequences for children, contributing to learning challenges, difficulty forming meaningful relationships, and an increased likelihood of developing more serious mental illnesses later in life.

H.R. 6509 would require the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to work with area experts to compile and make public evidence-based mental health, social-emotional, and behavioral health interventions for young children. The bill also provides grants to Head Start programs to implement these interventions in an effort to ensure every child has access to comprehensive health care.

Government creates mental health crisis, government tries to solve problem government created.

Man destroys God, man creates dinosaur

Wouldn’t that at all east be the responsible thing to do?

Here is what children need as soon as they start school. Motivation. If they are not motivated to learn they will fail. Too many come from homes where there is no motivation. Obvious from test scores. Hire a motivator, even companies do that. Not someone to tell them everyone is against them.

Mark oughta have his head examined.

You could do more good by saving all the cash going to this, and instead take one simple action: Stop ruining children’s lives with dystopian school restrictions, aka a two-year unethical experiment in childhood social/mental/emotional development.

Mark wants to get a early start to brainwashing and medicating our kids.

.
Snowflake legislation… hopefully it dies in chamber.
.

Typical of the left. Create a problem, then swoop in with a new government program to solve the problem they created.

Homelessness is on the same track.

I was regarded as hyper by teachers when I was a kid. Now I outperform my colleagues. Glad there was no Ritalin regimen pushed by schools at that time, or I would have been drugged. Now it’ll be counseling that will have to be avoided in order to not dumb down achievers on their own pathways.

He should be the first in line for treatment.

I swear you couldn’t write a better comedy than this. So our Gov creates panic, isolation with unnecessary lockdowns, instills fear in school kids by the ridiculous mask mandates that make people more difficult to understand while essentially not working to spread germs and then creates a bill to improve something they destroy. You can’t make this up. I better hurry to Rite Aid to get my three free N95 masks before I stand in a four hour line to get a wuflu test.

Funny. He is the one that needs some serious mental help. One of many in the Democratic party that I wish would just disappear. They are useless and destructive to society

The admins don’t let me say “barf” anymore so I’ll say this.

As a representative of the people in this district, he is incompetent.

His proposed laws are for the most part meaningless.

All they do is use taxpayer money and show dubious results.

I can’t understand how anyone could support Mark as their representative.

Except for his few useless proposals, he does nothing.

And that’s his value as a representative, nothing.

Great Claycordian answers! You all beat me to the punch. The Washington Mafia needs a haircut.

Mark DeSaulnier is in orbit!
His channel no longer comes in on my TV.
(I turn them off instantly)
And yes I voted for him once.

How about we start by treating kids with respect and allowing them a choice whether to wear masks in school and allow their lives to return to normalcy. They got a raw deal between our politicians and the unions over the last couple of years.

Has Mark ever tried to make an appointment Therapist are overwhelmed and are not able to take on new patients. I guess we could do like the Schools and just eliminate all the eduction requirements for Therapist and then we can just add thousands of unlicensed life coaches.

Another means to indoctrinate kids at an unbelievable young level to be sure to garnish Demo/Progressive/lib vote base. The people of color will be the biggest benefit for this indoctrination as what votiung base are trying to garnish/develop!!
