Additional officers from the Concord Police Department will be on patrol today from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. looking for drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
“We want everyone to be as safe as possible, especially when they are on the road,” Lt. Mark Robison said.
Concord Police Department reminds the public that impaired driving is not just from alcohol. Some prescription medications or over-the-counter drugs may interfere with driving. Always follow directions for use and read warning labels about driving. While medicinal and recreational marijuana are legal, driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal.
Drivers caught driving impaired and charged with DUI will pay a stiff price: an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.
Concord Police Department will be on patrol today from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. And what about 12 a.m. to 2 a.m. when the bars close?
Well….. It’s past their bedtime………………………………….
Very valid point…
Let’s hear a response from CPD regarding this please.
You left out the “Additional officers from the” part. Obviously, regular patrols will still be on duty from 12-2AM, as always.
You must work for CNN.
cause they wanna go out; themselves, in time for “Last Call”…
Concord is in need of money….so they sit on Contra Costa Blvd to nab,, where the speed limit is 35(with few signs)., but it’s more like a freeway..
… bets on where? I say Monument or Clayton road near Oakland Ave.. others?
Good idea. There could be alot of drunk mothers out there celebrating early.
…might it be that telephone poles have caught more DUI folks than the CPD? Just asking…
Giving Lamar Thorpe a heads up I see 🙂
+1 the entire city council is just as bad as Lamar or even worse. I feel bad for the city of Antioch.
Why don’t they arrest those sideshow ****heads?
They would score on stolen cars, stolen weapons, and probably meth.
The east county trifecta!
Even though the DA thinks these are just kids having fun, those fees are an excellent source of revenue.
