ConFire crews are working six spot fires between Knoll Dr. and southbound Hwy.242 in Concord.
There was an initial threat to nearby fences, but between some homeowners and Engine 9’s crew, they’re getting forward progress stopped.
UPDATE: Concord Police have taken a suspect into custody and since turned them over to the ConFire Investigator.
UPDATE: The fire is under control, at approximately 1.5 acres. Crews will be on scene for about half an hour.
UPDATE: About 9 hours ago, a suspect was also arrested for starting seven small fires along hwy.4 in Concord. It’s unknown if it’s the same suspect.
Last night on Port Chicago Hwy a fire was started. My home was at risk. Thank you to the Concord Police Officers who took it upon themselves to hose down my yard until Fire Fighters arrived. Thank you all so much. You are all heros.
Too close. Good for you.
That’s a nice thing to read – kudos to the Concord PD!
Good people.
Glad they caught the person. I hope they make the charges stick. I’m thinking about other fires that have been started in the area in the past- would be nice if it was the same person.
I saw the man in hwy 4 last night. It was crazy. He was just standing there watching the fire. Called 911 and as I was on the phone I saw the fire department already putting another fire out right off the exit across from the North Concord Bart station. They had a busy night last night.
Our great DA will probably let the person out. Needs somebody to start the BBQ.
Minimum twenty years. Next time they may kill someone.
@FPN. So glad to read your home was saved. Yes, thank you Concord PD and our Fire Fighters.
Thank you. We have had six fires on that hill since 2020. That section of property is owned by an absent owner. I called the city over a month ago to have them come and take down the tall dry grass. They never came out. Tomorrow which is Tuesday some of us in the neighborhood are going to the city council meeting.
…again… when will we tire of the demented drug fazed homeless in the camps there starting fires and costing us hundreds of thousands of dollars …. what’s next? lives and homes too? .. bets on how quickly Becton will have him out?
Until people wake up and stop voting for the liberal filth, who prioritize criminals over the taxpayers, then this is our lives.
“It’s unknown if it’s the same suspect”.
How could it be if the suspect was just arrested? Oh, that’s right……it’s Catch & Release California!!!!
Not if Becton has anything to say about it.
What is the perps name??
Another one of our darling homeless men?
The “homeless” arsonist will be freed by Becton within a day.
Let’s start a fire and burn that fire bug.😡
What does it take to keep these arsonist off the street and locked up? Burning the whole town down? Get them locked up now!
Says that CPD has taken a suspect into custody and turned them over to Con Fire Investigators. How many were turned over?

Here’s an Example of the Current Contra Costa DA’s “Catch and Release” program – Arrested two nights in a row…. Pittsburg Police Department, Pittsburg, CA is in Pittsburg, California. Feb 11 2022
Last night, one of our proactive graveyard officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop for CVC (vehicle code) violations on Railroad Avenue. Upon contacting the driver, he was recognized as being previously arrested the night before for being in possession of a “ghost gun”.
K9 Kyra responded to the traffic stop to assist, which resulted in her alerting on the trunk of the vehicle (smelling/locating/detecting the odor of ammunition/explosives). A search of the vehicle was ultimately conducted, which resulted in officers locating 1 pound of marijuana, as well a large capacity magazine and ammunition. The driver was placed under arrest for the on-view charges.
However, officers weren’t done just yet. A search warrant was later authored and served at the arrestee’s residence by multiple swing shift and graveyard officers. Upon searching the residence, multiple firearm manufacturing kits, high capacity magazines, heroin, an assault rifle, and miscellaneous “ghost” gun parts were found (see photo). The driver had several additional felony charges added to his booking sheet, and was transported to county jail.
Our officers are notorious for going the extra mile to making our city a safer place to be, along with our 4-legged furry partners 🐕🚔🚨. -P376 #pittsburgpd #ppd #wewillfindyou #graveyardshift #badboysbadboys
.. good job LE ….. now we need to get Becton out & Knox in to keep the perps in
Thank you police for sticking it out under such horrific working conditions and no support from district attorney’s office. Do not elect any politicians receiving campaign donations from George Soros. Gavin Newsom, George Gascon, Chesa Boudin for example.
When will voters get it through their heads to stop voting in the fools who continue to let rhe law breakers rum wold and free. We the lowly over taxed citizens want this crap stopped and people prosecuted and restitution made to rhe tax payers and victims of crime. Lawsuits payouts we are stuck with that people file whilly nilly seem to have an enemy a.ount of cash. How about paying us citizens who are continually victimized.
Newsom has a $65-68 billion dollar surplus partly from over taxing us-set up a fund for victims and reduce the homeless freebies and the rest of the money being wasted in the state. You do not pay taxes you do not get to drain the system.
It is such a waste of water and resources not to keep a serial arsonist locked up especially when mentally ill. Contra Costa is failing its citizens and the police departments.
