Clayton Valley Charter High School Junior Kyle Hetherton is organizing a food drive at Diamond Terrace senior-living community in Clayton.
From now until May 14, the public will be able to donate non-perishable food to the Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano through bins at the Diamond Terrace, which is located at 6401 Center St.
“I want this to be as impactful as possible and help as many people as possible,” Hetherton said.
Some of the foods needed include:
- Canned tuna and chicken in water
- Beans and lentils (dry or canned)
- Rice
- Whole grain cereals
- Whole wheat/grain pasta
- Low-sodium canned vegetables
- Canned tomato products
- Hearty low-sodium soups
- Canned fruit in juice
- Nonperishable ready-to-eat meals (chili, ravioli, etc.)
