Space Jam at the Rheem Theater. I Surprised my kids on a Sunday morning, we had breakfast and then went to the movies. No Traffic, Tons of parking, Easy Access. No Crowds, price was good, We had the Best time! And! The entire screening room to ourselves……
1917 in the Labia Theater in Cape Town South Africa. March 2020 Oldest theater in the country. That was the day before the world went into lock downs.

Can’t remember the movie but it was an action movie Hubby wanted to see.
It was at the theater in the new Veranda Mall. About 6 months after the theater opened.

The King’s Man. Was suppose to be the prequel to the first of 2 King’s Men. It wasn’t as interesting and tried too hard.

Is was part of the regular TCM promotion when they bring the classics back to the big screen….It is great being able to watch the classics on a full sized movie screen. I mean I love them on T.V. but in the theater you get the full effect.
I saw Singing in the Rain on the big screen in April. Second time seeing it on the big screen. About 15 years ago the Paramount in Oakland use to show classic movies on Friday nights. The organ played, people got chances to spin the Deco-wheel for prizes and they showed a cartoon as well. Saw Singing in the Rain, Casablanca, Maltese Falcon, An American in Paris, Fantasia and a couple of others. Always a good time.
And you are correct there is something special seeing movies on the big screen

Took one of my sons to see Kung Pao, Enter the Fist in 2002. I haven’t been to a movie theater since.

Just saw Father Stu. Before that, the West Side Story remake. Both were ok, just not fabulous~!
I saw the epic movie “Zen” about the life of Dogen in Ginza back in 2014 … since then nothing. But I did watch Thunderbolt & Lightfoot yesterday … what a great old school classic that one is … Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges are such baller actors.
I think it was Coco, but I could be forgetting something.
I guess the last movie I saw was when I took my son to the Star Wars one where Han died. I cannot recall the name; in fact, I did not recall he died until talking to a coworker a month or so later who asked if I was surprised, and the coworker told me Han died. I guess I stopped watching at some point. Same goes for the last 5+ movies I took my kids to. I cannot recall the last movie I went to see for myself, but it was more than 20 years ago.

Magnum Force in 1973. Only went because a bunch of us were extras in the mob scene at City Hall. In theater movies are over rated: too loud, too many “commercials”, and too many obnoxious people talking over the sound.

About 10 yrs ago my daughter got some tickets for me, my wife and daughter to see a limited screening of the film version of 2001 Space Odessey at SF moma. Was fun. Good memories.
I can’t even remember the last movie I saw in a theater it has been so long. To expensive for me. Not sure what all the hype is that people talk about with recliners and getting served at your seat during the movie. I am afraid I would fall asleep in a recliner while watching a movie. LOL. I always remember the old theatre experience of getting your popcorn, candy and drink on the way in and setting in a comfortable chair with a cup holder. Who cared if you were setting right next to a stranger.
