Driving Over The Golden Gate Bridge Just Got More Expensive

Golden Gate Bridge tolls and Golden Gate Ferry and Transit fares are increasing starting today.

Tolls are now $0.20 to $0.35 higher for most drivers, depending on their payment methods.

The FasTrak Account rate increased by $0.35 from $7.70 to $8.05, the Pay-As-You-Go rate (includes License Plate Accounts and One-Time Payments) increased by $0.20 from $8.40 to $8.60, and the Toll Invoice rate increased by $0.35 from $8.70 to $9.05.

The carpool rate rose from $5.70 to $6.05. Multi-axle vehicle toll rates also increased.

The increases are part of the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District’s five-year toll and transit fare programs. The toll program was approved in 2019 to fund continued operations and transportation infrastructure maintenance.

Approximately 50 percent of bridge toll revenue is used to subsidize bus and ferry transit operations, according to the district.

The district also hopes the toll increases can provide funding to help maintain service as bridge traffic and transit ridership have dropped significantly during the pandemic.

The district reported that bridge traffic is still down 20 percent from pre-pandemic levels. Bus and ferry ridership also remain down by about 70 percent and 90 percent, respectively.

It would totally be worth that price if the toll were charged in the other direction instead.

Man-O-Man-O-Man…. This story and the 3 prior stories…

Bridge Increase
Gas Tax Increase
BART Increase
Biden basically tells us to Suck It…..

I can see why a few of my neighbors feel the need to have their flags upside down….

But all is not lost…. I found a 13.25 lbs brisket for $2.98 per…. It’s in a 3 day brine now…. So Y’all know what I’m doing for the 4th….

That’s the right attitude, enjoy life.

It’s just plain mentally lazy to keep blaming one person for our country’s. Blaming Brandon means you don’t have to look at complex issues with lots of moving parts and players. Just wear a t-shirt that says “Thanks, Brandon!” and park your brain in “idle.”

In spite of those California voters who are idiots and support financially ignorant politicians in California and Washington DC…
Time for a positive change!

bad R C…. No brisket for you….

I do look at complex issues; such as how the brine interacts with the beef…. Low & slow adds to the tenderness…

It will go in at 7PM Sunday evening for about 20hrs….

Bridge traffic, bus, and ferry ridership is down because nobody wants to visit a crime ridden city. But let’s raise the cost, that’ll bring more traffic.

Get ready for a Spare The Air Day

I remember when it was forty cents.

So has everything else gone up.

GREED AND MISMANAGEMENT!!!! How much more will Bay Area residents put up with? Just getting to work is eating up my paycheck! AHhhhhhh!

So weird why corporations, businesses and people are leaving California. Makes no cents.

Now even USC and UCLA want to leave California!

This is all scaring me!
Claycord, your last three articles here today were all about prices going up on different items. We’ve decided as a couple that we can’t even afford to go out for breakfast anymore. It’s a sure 40 bucks! Crazy..
I can unequivocally say that we were better off under Trump! Things*were*better*with*Trump!

We’d be better off under Fidel Castro!

Now even USC and UCLA want to leave California!

The fact they have to use 50% of GGB auto tolls to subsidize bus and ferry transit operations is proof bus and ferry operations are untenable and should be cancelled or those tolls raised so those services they can pay for themselves.

But what do I care? I haven’t driven the GGB in 20 years and hopefully, will never have to again in my lifetime.
