This is a publicity move by Amazon – covering their tail for a lax review policy. What will they claim as damages? – Due to fake reviews we’ve sold more than we should have.

It’s really hard to take this seriously. Amazon has always had a reputation of discouraging or deleting negative reviews because they want to sell stuff. I’ve had that happen to me where my review just magically disappeared.

Gee, Twitter has a lot of fake accounts, now we hear about Facebook fake reviews.
I suspected that these liberal left activists we’re magnifying themselves and their crazy opinions to push their agendas.

why sue when you can just delete or block an ip address. hmm even a cease and desist would suffice imo
A lot of people use VPNs today (especially spammers), so you can’t just block an IP without risking blocking thousands of legitimate users with it. It’s not as simple as it appears.

What does Amazon have to do with Fakebook? I thought Amazon ran their own review system and for years have been able to know if a review was from someone or something that had purchased the product being reviewed.
What Amazon could show, but won’t for competitive reasons, is 1) The date an item was added to Amazon. 2) The date/times of all changes to an Amazon listing and who made those changes. 3) A time-line graph of sales of that item. This would allow potential customers to filter out possibly sketchy products or sellers.
