State Officials Call For 600,000 To 800,000 Monkeypox Vaccine Doses To Mitigate Virus

California public health officials called on the federal government this week to supply more than 500,000 doses of the monkeypox vaccine in an effort to mitigate the spread of the virus.

In a letter sent Tuesday to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, state Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly and California Department of Public Health Director Dr. Tomas Aragon expressed a need for at least 600,000 to 800,000 doses of the two-dose Jynneos vaccine for monkeypox and smallpox, which is developed by the Danish biotechnology company Bavarian Nordic.

Ghaly and Aragon said that while its request was a conservative estimate, the additional vaccine doses would allow the state to expand eligibility to people with both confirmed and probable exposures to the virus as well as those who at a higher risk of contracting the virus.

“Unlike the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic when we did not have a vaccine to mitigate the spread, in the case of monkeypox we do have an approved vaccine that should be effective,” Ghaly and Aragon said in the letter.

As of Tuesday, the state has received reports of 356 probable and confirmed cases of monkeypox. However, public health officials have said that the risk of the general public contracting the virus is currently very low.

Monkeypox is generally spread through skin-to-skin contact or bodily fluids via kissing, breathing at close range, sexual activity and sharing bedding or clothing. Health officials have stressed that the virus is not airborne like COVID-19 or the flu.

Symptoms can include a rash or sores on the skin anywhere on a patient’s body. Contraction of the virus often begins with flu-like symptoms as well.

The virus has been confirmed globally in many men who identify as gay or bisexual, but public health officials have stressed that the virus is not exclusive to men who are attracted to men, and anyone can contract monkeypox via close contact with an infected person.

Regardless, state and local health officials have partnered with LGBTQ community organizations to raise awareness of the virus and limit its spread.

“To ensure that we not further stigmatize this population, we have been working proactively with local and community-based partners to develop resources, deploy vaccine clinics, and ensure appropriate messaging that is inclusive,” Ghaly and Aragon said.

“We have more work ahead of us to stop the spread of the virus,” they said. “To do that, we must deploy all tools in our toolbox, including the available vaccine.”

How about keep your pants zipped for two weeks to flatten the curve.

That will be another shot that I will not partake in…

Agreed

A better way to stop the spread is to not bend over.

Could have saved time and effort by distributing at the Pride parades.

Illustrious California Senator Scott Weiner better pass a law making it legal to pass it to your partner without telling them you have it.

If there isn’t a condom shortage, why get the jab?

Vaccine should be available to all. Vaccines save lives. And always mask up.

These harmfu lVaccines are why everyone has autism and assorted menatl conditions now, You can have mine.

In the case of moneypox, recommend wearing at least 2 sets of underwear.

Never got the COVID vaccines and never once wore a mask, and yes I traveled and socialized and I’m over 50 those first 2 years and have yet to get anything. Don’t believe everything they mandate you to do or highly recommend.

I read on the Contra Costa Health Department press release this is how to mitigate exposure to monkeypox:
https://cchealth.org/monkeypox/
People considered at high risk of exposure include gay, bisexual and other cisgender men who have sex with men (MSM), as well as transgender men and transgender women, who:
* Have had gonorrhea, chlamydia, and/or syphilis in the past three months
* Have engaged in chemsex or group sex with other men
* Have had sex recently with anonymous male partners
* Have attended sex-on-premises events or venues, such as bathhouses
* Have engaged in survival and/or transactional sex

Wonder if they’ll decide to change the name for being derogatory toward monkeys.

“…cisgender men who have sex with men (MSM)?” Isn’t that the very definition of a gay man? lol

Funny how they have two categories for gay men.

1. Gay men.
2. Cisgender men who have sex with men (MSM).

Are they both not homosexuals?

And I wholly reject the idea of “cisgender.” It’s an attempt to paint transsexualism as just another side of the coin. But it’s not another side of the coin unless that coin has not mentally ill on one side and mentally ill on the other. It’s an attempt to paint transsexualism as a normal variation. It’s a mental illness.

356 probable cases in California, in a population that represents a small percentage of Californians. Yet they want to order. 600-800,000 vaccines.

Somebody obviously has friends in the vaccine business.

+1

The gay lobby is screaming for the vaccine because once vaccinated, they think they can continue to have unprotected sex with abandon with multiple partners at bath houses and gay super-spreader events.

Two events I know of.

Maspalomas Gay Pride 2022 in the Canary Islands. Attendees brought the virus back to Scotland, England, France, Germany, etc.

Daddyland Festival in Dallas, TX. At least one man in Dallas picked up a case at the gay Daddyland Festival.

IIRC, the guy at Daddyland admitted to having unprotected sex with multiple partners.

The gays will never, ever change their behavior. And this is why monkeypox and HIV are both VDs.

Stick with hetero relationships and that’s the BEST vaccine out there against

How is this monkey pox spread? I blame the organ grinders

Well done.

Donkeypox is the real threat that there is no safety from it.
Yes Donkey as in the Democratic symbol

Dems dont want to follow through with their promises. Why not use a biohazard to get rid of them. Just like AIDS.

Just in time for the Midterm elections
