That’s the equivalent of a lot of plastic straws.

Where is Gavin, our Precious Governor?

Every year the hills and valleys of California turn from green to brown in the month of May. The drought has nothing to do with fires that is just the way California is. If your house catches on fire and is fully inflamed your garden hose is useless. You are a day late and a dollar short. That is what is happening to forest fires that get out of control. They are using a garden hose and are too late. We have the satellite ability to spot fires but we need a fleet of 747s to get on the fire immediately. The aircraft we use hold four thousand gallons of retardant. A 747 holds nineteen thousand gallons of retardant. The cost of the new aircraft is about the same as as a reconditioned retired 747. There are many of them. The operating cost is higher for sure but it would save days and weeks of fighting one fire. The State or US government should have a fire fighting air force. It would do more good than most of our regular air force.
