The threat to the industry is what is causing the lack of investment, causing the high price of energy. It is going to get much worse. All caused by environmentalists and Joe Biden. Now if the market stays tank it will not get better.

Dawg September 24, 2022 - 1:08 PM - 1:08 PM

As expected. In late March, Biden released one million gallons of oil a day from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve for six months. Well, time is up, and so is the price of gas. Biden thinks he can fool the public into believing he’s doing something to ease inflation, when in actuality, he’s making it worse.

“Come on man!” creepily ‘whispering’ “of course I can fool at least half the public” ‘In angry tone’ Those MAGA Republicans are ruining democracy; it is because of them Putin invade Ukraine, and why gas is so high.

I buy gas once a week for my commute. I was in sticker shock this morning when I went to fill up. It’s gone up anywhere from 20 to 40 cents per gallon depending on which gas blend you purchase.

I would like to propose the federal government set a standard price per gallon. If the state charges extra taxes they must not use it for anything but fixing roads and bridges. Period. No putting the tax money into a general fund to use as they wish.

I still commute to work every week day. Public transportation is not an option for most of us. The price of consumer goods will also increase with the increase in gasoline prices.

ON DA September 24, 2022 - 4:41 PM - 4:41 PM

I buy gas every 9 months or so. Boy do I have a lot of kids.

Mr Elk September 24, 2022 - 6:08 PM - 6:08 PM

The federal govt. Is the problem, will never be a part of the solution.

WC September 24, 2022 - 3:39 PM - 3:39 PM

Let’s go, Brandon!

Gititogether September 24, 2022 - 10:31 PM - 10:31 PM

Perfect summation

TPC September 24, 2022 - 3:44 PM - 3:44 PM

Hey Russia! How about those sanctions? Oh, here you go Ukraine, have billions of our dollars while we suffer in the states.

Seginus September 24, 2022 - 4:20 PM - 4:20 PM

Imagine still having to buy gas to get places, sounds like a real drag!

Pat September 24, 2022 - 7:59 PM - 7:59 PM

Just wait until you see how much your replacement battery costs.

LocalAntiLib September 24, 2022 - 8:52 PM - 8:52 PM

Yeah you’re going to be in for a hell of surprise when you got to spend $26,000 for a new battery for your EV. That EV leaves a bigger carbon footprint in a gasoline powered vehicle you people are idiots that support this industry.

Parent September 24, 2022 - 9:14 PM - 9:14 PM

Imagine not being able to charge your car because of power outage … or a heat wave …. Or having to pay peak pricing to PGE/MCE for the privilege of using the electrical grid ….

Sounds like a real drag …. Oh and an actual recent reality.

Glen223 September 24, 2022 - 9:43 PM - 9:43 PM

And given how much of the raw material comes from China…

This country has just screwed itself – thanks to democrats.

Bluebird September 24, 2022 - 10:29 PM - 10:29 PM

The older homes will require new electrical panels if they want to install battery rechargers. And how about the apartments and multiple unit housing? How long will it take to get a permit? How long to get the work done? If you don’t do it right, you could burn your house down. It’s not just the summer months that you will use electricity and strain the grid. Cold months are coming and we will have to heat our homes. Endless cycle, isn’t it? Gasoline goes up because of supply and demand. Price of electricity goes up too because of greediness.

anon September 26, 2022 - 10:24 AM - 10:24 AM

The grid is already overburdened. If even 20% of people bought electric cars it would completely collapse.

Not to mention, virtually any modern cars with drive-by-wire can be used to execute you at any time with completely deniability.

The next time there is civil unrest the elites don’t want happening, they will simply disable peoples’ cars from starting up at all, or make it so the car refuses to travel to areas where protests and demonstrations are happening.

Just buy an old Toyota or Honda from the early 2000s or earlier.

Badge1104 September 24, 2022 - 4:35 PM - 4:35 PM

…… but Biden just said that the price of gas was going down, and that we need to thank him! ( Oh, I guess this is just another one of his ‘reverse claims’ )

Aunt Barbara September 24, 2022 - 6:59 PM - 6:59 PM

Boot Biden

Ricardoh September 24, 2022 - 7:34 PM - 7:34 PM

Lock him up. Three thousand migrants have died this year trying to cross his open border. He is a mass murderer.

Parent September 24, 2022 - 7:59 PM - 7:59 PM

Thanks Biden! Your a peach!

Thanks Newscum to suspending the gas tax! Your hair is awesome!

For you electric vehicle folks laughing, well at least I could drive mine during the heat wave and power outages. And I don’t need to wait a couple of hours to ‘fuel’ up my vehicle.

Chicken Little September 25, 2022 - 7:02 PM - 7:02 PM

All the smug folks driving electric cars aren’t going to be quite as amused when all the taxes and fees start being charged. Our government is just waiting until more folks take the bait, then they’ll slap on some ridiculous “road use fee” or something to replace the lost revenue from gas tax. I would expect the price of electricity to increase drastically with “infrastructure improvement fees” or the like, too. There’s no free ride.

Exit 12A September 24, 2022 - 8:33 PM - 8:33 PM

.
The national energy policy should be “all of the above” -petroleum, coal, wind, solar, hydro, nuclear, thermal, etc.
.
JUST LIKE IT WAS UNDER PRESIDENT TRUMP.

miguel September 25, 2022 - 7:51 AM - 7:51 AM

Remember that data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics back on September 14? “Two-Month Decline In Bay Area Inflation Driven By Lower Gas Prices” Most of the comments were calling BS on that one.
