Just in time for the election. Another scam from the California government.

Cellophane October 14, 2022 - 10:45 AM - 10:45 AM

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Exit 12A October 14, 2022 - 10:46 AM - 10:46 AM

,
STOP ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION AND DRUG TRAFFICKING ACROSS THE US-MEXICO BORDER.
.

Cellophane October 14, 2022 - 10:47 AM - 10:47 AM

Will they clost the border?

No.

Nothing will be resolved.

LocalAntiLib October 14, 2022 - 11:14 AM - 11:14 AM

This whole story stinks of buying votes..

Dawg October 14, 2022 - 11:17 AM - 11:17 AM

Make it easier for doctors to write prescriptions for pain meds. There are too many people who are suffering from chronic back pain, and their doctors are afraid to prescribe an opioid to relieve their pain. Some of these people have turned to street drugs seeking relief from their pain, consequently, some of these people have died from a pill they thought was Vicodin, and it turns out it was fentanyl.
When will the politicians learn? Their war on drugs is a huge failure. What they are doing isn’t working, it’s time to try something new, and uncompromising. Close the border, and continue building the wall, complete with watch towers and armed guards, and shoot at anybody attempting to cross the border,
The illegal border crosses are destroying American culture, and our way of life. It’s time to get tough, or it will never end.
America must always come first.

Lamorinda Larry October 15, 2022 - 1:30 AM - 1:30 AM

@Dawg – Spot on re unshackling doctors to treat chronic pain without risk of belligerent, uninformed prosecutorial reprisal.

I do not, however, follow the nexus between fentanyl overdoses and and militarizing the Canadian border or the curious proposition that shooting Canadian tourists and businessmen from guard towers would somehow curtail America’s fentanyl scourge.

Ricardoh October 14, 2022 - 11:26 AM - 11:26 AM

Like all of the killings that are happening and all politicians do is hand wringing. They think this mess can be cleaned up by talking about it and making speeches. Look at the drug addicted homeless and tell me they can’t figure out who their drug dealers are. A couple of days ago they arrested one.

Jim October 14, 2022 - 2:57 PM - 2:57 PM

The vast majority of homeless actually don’t use drugs.

Only about 1/3 of homeless use alcohol and/or drugs with alcohol use being the common. Roughly 1 in 4 homeless people use drugs.

The others are homeless due to mental illness and financial issues (about 1/3 of the population for each group).

Dawg October 14, 2022 - 4:55 PM - 4:55 PM

@Jim, How do you know? Did somebody take a survey, and did the homeless answer honestly? We keep hearing the propaganda about the homeless suffering from mental illness, but from my observation as an RN working with drug addicts, most of what they are saying is mental illness, is brain and liver damage due to the use of drugs and alcohol. A bad liver will allow toxins to build up in the brain, and it will affect mood, behavior, and speech. One other thing I observed is that a lot of their financial issues are because they spend all their money on drugs and alcohol.

James October 14, 2022 - 4:59 PM - 4:59 PM

Jim,you are clueless.Unless you can show any proof,I hazard to say %95 of people on the streets are on drugs and alcohol, and have plans to ever change.
These are not people down on their luck with no money. They spend more money each day than most make.

James October 14, 2022 - 5:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Oops NO plans to ever change.

Janus October 14, 2022 - 7:15 PM - 7:15 PM

Well Jim as a police officer in Bay Area for over 30 years that has not been my professional experience with transient’s alcohol and drug usage.

FYI – 1/3 is over half so what do you consider a vast majority?

Cowellian October 14, 2022 - 7:45 PM - 7:45 PM

Well, I wasn’t a math major, so it comes as a complete surprise to me that 1/3 is over a half. This must be some of that “new” math I’ve been hearing about.

😉

reekorizzo October 14, 2022 - 8:07 PM - 8:07 PM

When did 1/3 become more than half?….someone is not good at math.

Janus October 14, 2022 - 8:59 PM - 8:59 PM

@ reekorizzo

Yep, my bad more that 1/4.

Concord Resident October 15, 2022 - 10:37 PM - 10:37 PM

@janus

1/4 is less than 1/3

Tj October 16, 2022 - 8:30 AM - 8:30 AM

When I was in a shelter, 100% of the homeless used drugs. Mental illness only made up about 10%. And the mentally ill used drugs too. Almost every homeless person is there by choice, or lack of good choices.

nytemuvr October 16, 2022 - 10:49 AM - 10:49 AM

I’m so confused……so how much is a fifth (1/5)?….4/5s of a quart?…wait, no, wait…….

Cowellian October 16, 2022 - 11:19 AM - 11:19 AM

nytemuvr, I dunno, but I seem to remember that a fifth under the seat was a component of a double date

nytemuvr October 14, 2022 - 11:48 AM - 11:48 AM

Eight pounds of pure Fentynol would probably kill the stated 1.75 million people, truth is that each one of those pills is probably 99+% inert filler. The government is so good about embellishing drug “facts” clear back to the 60s…. sarcasm switch is now off.

Sick of it October 14, 2022 - 12:49 PM - 12:49 PM

This attorney general is probably one of the most useless ones we have ever had. Nothing but political stunts to keep his name out there or support for the Democratic Party. He has not done one thing for the average Californian that really means anything to the lively hood of any of us

Old-school guy October 14, 2022 - 3:33 PM - 3:33 PM

He’s a Newsom puppet, er, I mean pick. He knows the hand that feeds him.

America October 14, 2022 - 12:58 PM - 12:58 PM

A new crackdown on drugs coming in from pourous borders? Oh, how wonderful! Now I can sleep soundly at night.

Martinezmike October 14, 2022 - 1:43 PM - 1:43 PM

It looks like Halloween candy. ” Not-so-smarties “

FPN October 14, 2022 - 1:53 PM - 1:53 PM

Until our boarders are closed crack downs mean nothing.

Chris October 14, 2022 - 6:18 PM - 6:18 PM

Gee…about time Bonta. He’s too busy looking for White Supremacists and pushing Critical Race Theory in our schools.

Danged ineffectual October 15, 2022 - 12:23 AM - 12:23 AM

Yes, stop illegal immigration. The pharmaceutical companies can’t stand the competition.

SAM October 15, 2022 - 6:30 AM - 6:30 AM

I don’t know. With the recent COVID HOAX, I wouldn’t be surprised to find out these fentanyl laced death drugs are NOT coming over the boarder but manufactured in house and distributed by agents of big pharma and the WEF. Using the clearly open boarder as misdirection. If they were coming over the boarder, it would be an easy fix.

Concord74 October 15, 2022 - 9:44 AM - 9:44 AM

The only reason both Bonta and Newsom (along with other Demos) are blabbering so strongly is because the mid-terms are coming!! If they cannot make the majority, they will be “selling pencils on street corners”!
Once the Repubs win the majority we can monitor them. If they fail, we can go after them like what is going on for the Demos!!

Old Timer October 16, 2022 - 9:04 AM - 9:04 AM

They need to put the Judge in jail that put him back on the street from his previous crimes.Prime example of our lousy court system and current laws.
