The Biden administration removed any incentive for oil companies to drill their best projects that require significant infrastructure investment. The O & G company and their partners take the exploratory risk on their own balance sheet. They use leverage to finance infrastructure to get it to market. As such, access to capital is crucial for such projects, and without it they won’t pursue them. Biden basically told the banks not to loan to oil companies unless they are interested in additional regulations on their own industry. That Joe, always the charmer……
As the arrogant yet effervescent Jennifer Granholm said, they can’t flip a switch to bring prices down. She doesn’t understand this, but they can stimulate the O & G business greatly by removing their usurious capital constraint. This would create a much better consumer environment relatively quickly.
