A coalition of counties, cities and towns has launched an awareness initiative to encourage and quantify efforts to reduce water pollution, according to a news release from City of Santa Rosa, which is part of the coalition.
The Streets to Creeks action tracker allows participants to start their own action campaigns, designed to reduce pollutants entering the waterways through storm drains.
The online tool enables participants to highlight actions they are taking to minimize pollution. Users can start one of three campaigns: car washing, pet waste, or litter. Users can post pictures and track their actions to inspire others to reduce pollution, according to the release.
The coalition includes the City of Cloverdale, City of Cotati, City of Healdsburg, City of Rohnert Park, City of Santa Rosa, City of Sebastopol, City of Ukiah, County of Mendocino, County of Sonoma, Sonoma County Water Agency, Town of Windsor.
