The Contra Costa Public Works Department reported Sunday at least two roads in unincorporated areas were closed due to flooding New Year’s Day.

Marsh Creek Road is closed between the Round Valley Regional Preserve (19450 Marsh Creek Road, Brentwood) and Morgan Territory Road due to continued rock and mudslides. Only residents are allowed in the area. Please take alternate routes to avoid this area.

Happy Valley Road is closed between Bear Creek Road and the Lafayette city limit due to a tree down across the road. Please avoid the area.

Officials ask drivers to proceed safely and never attempt to cross flooded roads-driving, riding or walking. If the power is out, treat all traffic signals like stop signs.
