The clouds should open up to make way for the sun later this afternoon, but after Friday, the National Weather Service is saying we should expect rain everyday for at least the next two weeks.

The forecast calls for rain until at least the 19th of January.

Since the 1st of January, the lower elevations in Contra Costa County have received about 2 inches of rain.

Living in a home downhill leaves a backyard like a lake. My backyard is a lake but fortunately not near the house no matter how hard it rains. It runs out to the front on the side yard still away from the house. However when this all stops there will be mudd to clean up. A couple of days ago I left a plastic Home Depot bushel basket upright in the backyard and it is overflowing. The top is bigger than the bottom but I don’t feel like doing the math to figure out how many of inches of rain it took to fill it up. Now they say it will rain for twelve more days. This is crazy.

People need to stop driving fossil fuel cars or this may never stop! Truly a climate crisis. but I’m sure some people are thinking it. They draw all these other conclusions, like climate is leading to wildfires when it’s really PG&E’s deferred maintenance.

wc-creeker, we have seen years just as bad as this in the 60’s, was that because of fossil fuels?

WC…Creeker what about the wildfires all over the country and around the world the past couple of years…..PG&E? I agree the utility company has been beyond negligent but insane wildfires have destroyed so many areas of the world…Greece and Australia to name a couple and of course all over the western US and Florida the last couple of years.

This is how winters used to be in the Bay Area, before we entered a period of drought. Nothing unusual about this at all.
