A man was shot and killed on Tuesday morning in Antioch, police said.

Dispatch received multiple calls around 10:45 a.m. regarding a shooting at The Spot Liquor Store at 1108 Sycamore Dr.

Officers located a man in the parking lot suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police believe that there was a dispute between the victim and the suspect prior to the shooting; the suspect shot the victim and fled the scene.

Though police say they do not have any information about the suspect, they say that it was a targeted incident and there is no threat to the public.

Anyone who may have information about this crime is encouraged to contact Det. Cox at jcox@antiochca.gov. Anonymous tips can be texted to 274637 using the keyword ANTIOCH.

Pole mounted license plate readers opposite that parking lot plus pole mounted pan tilt zoom camera at L street and Sycamore intersection less than 80 feet away. Have driven down Sycamore in past and seen Police vehicles on four separate calls at same time.
.
At present there are three burned out boarded up high density housing units on that street.
.
Town has REALLY gone down hill since 1980s.
Last year NINE murders, in past 10 years (2013-2022) 97 murders.

Sycamore square, no surprise there.

Been like that for a bit. And most of the crime in Concord is from Antioch residents (not that there is not Concord trash as well).

“No threat to the public” How do we let these people tell us that? I was watching the sheriff about that entire family cartel murdered in Goshen yesterday, sheriff said the same thing.
.
Now, explain to me how these murderers pose “no threat to the public”. Non stop stupid is what you would need to be to believe that statement.

Well, for the cartel one, as long as you are not in the cartel or a rival (is that how those work? That is how gangs work), then you are fine. Those people that were killed were NOT innocent. Just like how people are SO concerned about “wrongly” convicting someone. Well, they might not have done that crime, but if they were arrested, the chance was they were not out there saving lives…

Since May 9th 2022, first killing in Sycamore Plaza. Owner of property has been advised by Security @ site that the problem is not the community. It’s the outsiders selling drugs in parking lot, from 7am till 2pm. Contract for security, 2pm – 10pm. Check the status Security officer’s that has done Excellent work is never been heard, neither been ask, WHY OWNERS WHAT PAY FOR SECURITY STAFFING. 14HRS. 7DAYS A WEEK. $6,000.00/a month. Is that to much to save a LIFE, or to stop drugs being sold and used to, Minors on there way to school. It’s posted drug free zone. Security is doing the Best it can, but nobody ever ask us Why. Again look @ the status.

It’s an Antioch thing, you wouldn’t understand. All these kids trying to mimic the 80s and 90s hood life. This is what happens when you let Instagram and tic tok raise your kids. Bunch of wannabes with no direction thinking they are cool while living that neck tattoo loser life. A whole generation of idiots who will live on the streets staring at their obama phones programmed by china. 🤡🌎

This is what you get when you allow an Ambulance chasing grifter “lawyer” sue the City of Antioch Police Dept. The police have become handcuffed.

Maybe they can post a few social workers at that location.

Oh, please January 18, 2023 - 4:33 PM - 4:33 PM

Liquor stores are open at 10 AM on a weekeday?
