Beyond 925 (Oakland) – Child Shot, Killed On Friday Morning

A boy was shot and killed Friday morning in the Eastmont neighborhood of Oakland, police said.

Officers responded at 1:32 a.m. to the 8000 block of Dowling Street following a report of a shooting.

Nearby is Aspire College Academy.

Officers arrived to the shooting site and located the boy, who was an Oakland resident, according to police. The boy was pronounced dead where officers found him, police said.

The child’s age and identity were not released.

Stop going to Oakland until they clean it out. I don’t even like to drive through it on the freeway. How many dead kids does this make this year?

I remember the good old days when the signs said “entering oakland” instead of welcome to Oakland. It was like a warning sign.
