The “Water Cooler” is a feature on Claycord.com where we ask you a question or provide a topic, and you talk about it.
The “Water Cooler” will be up Monday-Friday at noon.
Today’s question:
QUESTION: What’s your favorite unofficial holiday? (Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Cinco De Mayo, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, etc., etc.)
Talk about it….

National Barbecue Day
or any day that I “Q”
🙂
.
My favorite unofficial holiday is my birthday. I always take the day off or, if it fell on a weekend, made it a three-day weekend.
.
I haven’t always been able to get my birthday off, but I highly approve of the concept. When my birthday occurred while I was at sea, I at least got my name in the Plan of the Day.
Hallowe’en.
I get to meet all the neighbours once a year.
National Doughnut Day. Oh, wait: that’s every day, right?
My cat’s birthday. She’s a Savannah cat, born on April 5, 2012. The most intelligent, loving, and prettiest cat I’ve ever had. On her hind legs, she stands 3 ft 3 in tall, and weighs in at 23 lbs.
We had a 25-pound, ginger tabby Maine Coon. He was HUGE but so mellow. Guests in our home were often spooked by his size.
.
I miss that cat (RIP).
Halloweeny 🙂
Favorite unofficial holiday, any day I pick.
Being retired have more time to watch all the funny people.
Is harder than it used to be though, used to be person in grocery store talking with no one around them was unusual. They could clear an isle in nothing flat. Now it’s blue tooth with an ear piece.

Also fun, . . . . driving the speed limit in right lane.
Do admire person who got people to smoke pot that smells like a dead skunk.
I’m guessing you also drive a Toyota? Based on my observations, about 90% of the time when there is a moving roadblock in the left lane it’s a Toyota.
.
… a Toyota Prius.

National Donut (or Doughnut) Day is actually celebrated once a year. Does that make it “official?” Anyway, I’d celebrate it every day if my waistline would allow it. Cheers, all.
I too do not work on my birthday. I take at least one day off or more. I usually meet with a girlfriend for lunch, if not on that day, then one the weekend. This year my birthday fell on a Saturday, my girl friend in Windsor invited me to spend Saturday night at her place. We went out to dinner (her treat) and had a great time. Sunday I drove to Petaluma and had lunch with my girlfriend there. So all in all a great weekend. A few years ago I drove down to my daughters in Pasadena, but since my birthday is in January, you never know if the Grapevine will be closed due to snow, it happened one year and I had to spend the night at a motel. So I don’t like driving down there in the winter. Although I did for Christmas and no problem.
March 14th – pi(e) day! Next up would be St Patrick’s Day – corned beef sandwiches!
Opening Day for MLB.

You’d be surprised how may friends of Bill walk among us.

AA is for quitters……be a quitter.
I’m a Normie but I have known many quitters, some are my closest friends. They have taught me much about recovery. Bless them all.

Stone Cold Steve Austin Day – March 16th
It depends on what week it is, because I take my holidays where I can find them. This week is a three-fer: we’ve already celebrated Pi day and the Ides of March. Saturday, we’re doing our St Patrick’s dinner.
It’s actually a whole weekend, the one of the IMSA sports car races at Laguna Seca.

We have a NASCAR season opener party with a Daytona 500 potluck… the garage is set up with three big screen TVs, bar tables with a menu consisting of grilled tri-tip, southern fried chicken, Andouille and polish sausages, potato salad, green salad, apple pies, and a FULL bar!!

Forza Ferrari!
October 17 … National Opossum Day cause Possums are Awesome!! They are also misunderstood … they are VERY beneficial for our ecosystem (eating fleas, ticks, mice) and they do not carry rabies. What more could you want from a wild animal???!!!!
and they’re Delicious
