Dutch Bros. Opening Coffee Shop On Alhambra Ave. In Martinez

Dutch Bros., the popular Oregon-based drive-thru coffee shop, will be opening a second business in central Contra Costa County.

As we previously reported, Dutch Bros. plans to open a shop on Clayton Rd. in Concord, next to Taco Bell, and now, our friend “Captain Bebops” reports they’re also building one on Alhambra Ave. in Martinez, where Wendy’s once operated (across from Safeway).

It’s unknown when they plan to open.

Dutch Bros. also has shops in Oakley and Brentwood.

In the picture it looks like they have a couple of customers waiting for them to open.
The Clayton Road store seems to be taking a long time to build. Any updates?

Nation Giants remodeling on Clayton Rd will probably be finished before Dutch Brothers.

I drive by there about 2 times a month and it’s in sad condition.
So, I would say, putting a business there of any sort would be a totally improvement.

Good luck. I will try it. I agree it seems like coffee business overload tho.

The same people on here that espouse “freedom” and “less regulations” loudly complain when anything new to be built is proposed. “They shouldn’t be allowed to build that.” or… “Too much traffic already.” 😅

Coffee is dirty and is a cardiac irritant.

That depends on the individual and their metabolic state. Some people need a pickup and some need a slow down. Need a slow down there is a place next door for that. 😄

We’ll all be dead before the Concord and Martinez locations are ever built….If ever….

The picture is old and as of yesterday there was about one wall left of the Wendy’s building. “Coming Soon” and “Now Hiring” signs are up. These are drive through and probably not much of a competition for the nearby gourmet roast “Mountain Grounds”. But it will probably be popular.

That spot has been an eyesore for a while so it’s nice to have something moving in. My adult (kids) love Dutch Bros. because they have numerous drinks besides just coffee stuff. Their coffee drinks are much different then say Mountain Grounds or States so they shouldn’t hurt their customer base.

.
Im glad to see a company willing to take a measured risk and providing the community a new business which adds an option for its citizens and residents to patronize.
.
Dont like Dutch Bros.? No one is forcing it upon you to visit. Go elsewhere.
.
Build it.

Each shop is a franchise so independently owned and operated. Martinez residents have been looking at the Wendy eyesore for years, so anything is an improvement!

Well Folks March 23, 2023 - 8:30 AM - 8:30 AM

Dutch Bros is a fabulous communmity partner. We have 3 in town and each supports a different community cause. The original is a sports booster for the high school, one of the others supports CASA which is an advocate group for children who have been remeoved from their home and the 3rd supports 2 animal rescues.
The Martinez store as well as the Clayton Rd store will find it’s niche in the community.
