In 2012, the McDonald’s on Clayton Rd. in Concord, which stood for over 40 years, was demolished.
It was torn down to make room for the current, more modern McDonald’s (the one with two drive-thrus).

Sounds crazy but that picture actually makes me kinda sad. I liked the old McDonald’s. I took my kids there 2006-2012, the outdoor play place was awesome & they had plants inside & played easy listening music. It was like McDonalds when I was a kid in the late 70s. I don’t know why everything needs to be updated. The new place lacks character & nostalgia. They raised their prices a lot too. I rarely go now. If McDonald’s embraced their history & went full nostalgic: old uniforms, family friendly pricing, fries fried in beef tallow-they could make a major comeback!
The last time I went to McDonald’s was also the first time I went to McDonald’s. I don’t remember the year, but a burger was 15 cents and the driest burger I’ve ever had. I haven’t been back since.

Moved to Concord 1983, since it was rebuilt never been there. Got the hell out of California 2022, so I will never be there
Don’t eat there. It’s McNasty.
When I was a kid in the 70’s it was a treat maybe once a month to go to McDonald’s or any fast food place really. We’d go to this location after mini golfing nearby, which sadly is also gone, or the downtown WC location. Now the only time I’ve gone is when on road trips when I’ve had no other decent options.
