They call it a leave of absence so she can save face. However it’s not possible to save face when having been personally responsible for a $6 Billion dollar loss. This is what is called a marketing mistake, and it will be recalled in business textbooks for years to come.

Although, I really do hate it when those individuals that are running for office, have been appointed to office, or elected to office, change their political party registration to give themselves an advantage in winning an election and/or staying in office. Former Concord City Councilman Ron Leone, Assemblyman Tim Grayson, and Congressman Mark DeSaulnier are all examples of party switchers because it helped them win elections and/or helped them stay in office to further their political careers. They were all Republicans for years, if not decades, and they all changed their political party registrations to DTS or Democrat.

If EV powered vehicles were such a good idea the government would not have to supplement (More than $7500 on average per vehicle) the cost or put up chargers. Nor would they limit or outlaw the use of internal combustion engine (ICE). Good technology sales itself and bad technology must be pushed on the public. The government did not outlaw movies theaters to get people to buy TVs. They did not supplement computers to get people to stop buying adding machines. The government did not have anything to do with people giving up horses to buy Model-Ts. Only a tyrant government would push a product on the public. If these EV have merit, they will sell without government interference.
They can’t tolerate a free market, it doesn’t move fast enough and may not go the direction they intend. So they stack the deck using our money.
Case in point, that nut Jennifer Granholm wants all US military vehicles to be electric by 2030! That’s not humanly, technologically, or physically possible and worse yet we’ll have to depend on our enemies to make any progress in that direction.
Plus there is the tactical problem: “Time out, stop the war while we recharge.”

I wonder how many batteries it takes to move a 60 ton tank, at 40 mph, for 100 miles. Then I wonder how big that tank would be to house those batteries.
Are they going to install solar panels on tanks? Where the heck does one re-charge while in the middle of the forest or desert, all while getting shot at?
The perfect combat vehicle has heavy firepower (to destroy enemies), thick armor (protects the crew and increases the vehicle survivability), speed (enabling rapid attacks and making it harder to hit), a low profile (less to shoot at, better to hide), range of weapons (you can shoot him from a distance but he can’t shoot you that far away), and stealth (harder to detect). Every one of these, save stealth (quieter engines) is compromised by insisting on electric vs. gasoline/diesel.

The only advantage that I can see for electric tanks is that they will run quieter. But they won’t run far or fast because of the battery issues.
