I saw a new terminal building under construction at CCR.

Looks like a 2 door building.

At least it’s a start.

Plenty of room at the weapons station for an airport

Why spend money on an airport at the CNWS? Buchanan is only like a mile away?

I’m sure Martinez International is in the planning process. 🛩

Traffic used to be reasonable, crime used to be low, used to have ample open space, people used to have more cultural tolerance and patience, didn’t use to have high rise high density housing adding to the traffic & other problems, taxes used to be lower (gas and other paying for so many social programs), used to not have power outages and water shortages (latter compounded by over population).. then again we have nice weather usually.

The weather is 90% of the reason to live in this area. It’s also nice being only hours from the desert or mountains if you want to go camping.

Pro:
Some free bus routes.
Open spaces.
Day labor availability at Home Depot and monument when we need help.
Diversity.
Con:
Too many pot holes in the road.
A few old, bitter, cranky old timers

I think diversity is nice also. I just wish it had less of a positive correlation with crime.

Kamala Harris, KJP, Ketanji Brown Jackson, Hakeem Jeffries, Pete Buttigieg, Alejandro Mayorkas, Neera Tanden are just a few it’s paid off for substantially.
However Biden FAA nominee Phil Washington had to bow out because he couldn’t answer even the most rudimentary questions on aviation. How many wings are on a bi-plane? He didn’t understand the question was about wing quantity, not orientation.

Pro: It’s not SF or LA County.
Con: Taxes. It’s located in California. Homeless, crime, lawlessness, immorality, it’s in California. It’s exhausting to live here because it’s California and the Taxes. California and the taxes. Yup. California. People around the world hate CA.

What immorality in particular have you witnessed in Contra Costa?

Yoyohop May 15, 2023 - 8:48 PM - 8:48 PM

Immorality over the last 2 years: mask mandate, Vax passports, the attempt to create a church registry.

Many other counties in Ca didn’t these policies. They are indicative of a corrupted system.

Crime for starters then let’s go to the immoral and corrupt filth running the cities that’s a good place to start for immorality…right Chuq

What exactly kind of immorality are you referring to? Lawlessness stealing affects others as do break ins.
Immorality for the most part only affects the person or their family. If you think it is immoral to live together without being married, it have no impact on your quality of life, even if you disagree, same for other life style choices.

You find crime moral Hanne? or how about the waste of skin DA’s letting the fleabag criminals back onto the streets to rob assault & kill…you find that moral? I sure don’t…who mentioned lifestyle choices who said anything about that?

It’s a big county, so it all depends on what part of the county. In some parts, there are more pros than cons, in other parts there are more cons than pros. In the part where I live, my biggest gripe is the heavy traffic, and the potholes. Other than that, it’s not a bad place to live.

MoJo May 15, 2023 - 3:43 PM - 3:43 PM

Pros- Access to basic needs and entertainment- (Medical and Dental care(may have to wait awhile for appointments but it’s there), Groceries, Fuel, Restaurants, Arts, Concerts, Open space and parks, Not too far to the coast or the mountains etc.
Good weather, Some very safe towns and areas to live if you know where to look. Nice people. A lot to like about CoCo County.
Cons- We all know what they are so I won’t list them. It is still California and the Bay Area so there will be some baggage to deal with.

Pros: Nearby orchards for fresh fruit picking, the beauty of Mt Diablo, the Delta, all the hills.
Cons: The anti-individual liberty politics, high taxes, cost of living, eroding civil society (fortunately in CCC, still not as debased as in SF or LA).
