Yes, to a small, exclusive private resort with VERY private satellite islands in Malaysia. Im not stating the name so you all cannot go there.
.
We’ve been there in every other year since 2001. Very affordable.

A lot of great vacations to choose from, but probably a 3 1/2 week vacation to 16 countries in central and western Europe. Haven’t gone back. It was kind of pricy.

The best vacations I ever had were the ones with my Dad when I was a little kid. Every summer, we’d go somewhere. Disneyland, Russian River, or a fishing trip, It didn’t matter where we went, just being with him was the greatest experience ever. As an adult I’ve gone on many vacations, far and near, but nothing compares to the times I spent with my Dad, just the two of us.

The actual jungles in Costa Rica. No hotels, no buffets, no tourist zip line attractions. Been back, and going back again and again until I’m recycled.

Not been on many vacations, so it is easy for me to state Oahu/Waikiki Beach. Been there once, want to go back.

I never vacationed on Oahu, but I’d love to go back as a civilian.

Some of the best vacations are those that end up being really a surprise pleasant experience. Often an impromptu trip .
While I’ve lived in Europe, and travel there and the Middle East, one of the most memorable trips was to Santa Barbara California.
It was early in the year when our weather was still sketchy but Santa Barbara was in a wonderful spring with wonderful flowers, plants and trees . Add to thst the great Mediterranean style architecture they have there plus the stores, memorable restaurants and fun Harbor.
As I say it was a unplanned surprise trip and was one of the most memorable ever.
Yes we’ve gone back. But Santa Barbara has really gone downhill. Homeless have kind of ruined it.. Empty store fronts people sleeping in doorways street people at Harbor, and for some reason college kids seem to now rule the place at night.
We’ll never go back there again.

Been to a lot of places but when the kids were just starting to be teenagers we took a station wagon trip back east. Chicago, Niagara Falls, Boston , New York City, and Washington DC on the 4th of July, where we watched the fireworks show from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. We ended up on a relatives goat farm in West Virginia before driving home. When we got home three weeks later and picked up the dog he went nuts. Ran in circles for a long time.

“watched the fireworks show from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial” that must have been wonderfully indescribable…just that description elevates the level of pride I have for this country.

Hard to pick, several mini vacations here in California, CLear Lake, Tahoe and Yosemite, definitely will go back.
A few others stand out. When I was 18 I had a 2 week vacation, didn’t really have money to go anywhere, but my girl friend and I spend it together, she spend one week at my house and 1 week at hers. The first week we would take the train to the neares town, and go to the beach, some guys we knew were camping there, and we hung out with them all day and had lots of fun, couple of times we would take the bus to a hotel where they had live jazz at night?
In 1982 my exhusband and I bought a BMW here in the states, but to be picked up in Europe. We picked it up at the factory in Munich (saves you money)and then drove it around Europe for a few weeks, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France and up to Denmark to visit my family, great trip, would go back, sans ex husband of course. When my daughter was 12 we went camping in Big Sur, Morro Bay and visited Hearst Castle. Last memorable vacation, when my daughter was 25 she was travelling in Europe with a friend, they went to Denmark and I flew over to meet them there, we had a great time with my family, and I loved showing them all the places I loved in Denmark and Copenhagen. My daughter had been to Denmark several times with me, but this was the first time she went as an adult. Hope to go in the next year or so with my daughter and her family and introduce my grandchildren to my home country.

Denmark is such a special place! The people are truly wonderful, the architecture, the history, the treasures at the palaces and of course the food. Love bicycling all around Copenhagen and visiting the beautiful countryside. My husband lives there when he was a teen, and we loved visiting his host families. Special place! 🇩🇰

Thank you. It is the country I grew up in so of course I’m somewhat prejudice. However, having lived in 4 countries and 5 states every place has it’s charm. Where in Denmark did you live?

Beartooth Ranch, Montana. Riding horses morning and afternoon through some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen. Better than Europe or Hawaii or any other place I have been.

Been to many places in the US, Europe and all the Hawaiian Islands. Just got back from a trip to London. My favorite place in this entire world is New Orleans. We go home to NOLA every year, to eat, listen to live music, eat, go to festivals, eat, walk around the Quarter and the Garden District, eat, visit our alma mater (Tulane University) and reminisce when we lived there for 6 years in the 80s. There is no place in this world like New Orleans (and the surrounding region) and even though she has her issues (crime, etc) I love her deeply. ⚜️

3 weeks in Thailand. It was my second time there so I had already seen much of Bangkok. But this trip included 1 week volunteering at an elephant sanctuary, a week in Pattaya, the Sanctuary of Truth (still under construction), Walking Street, Million Years Stone Park & Pattaya Crocodile Farm . Unusual flooding prevented side trip to Chang Mai. Also purchased custom suit jackets and pants and a “fish massage.” That is where guppies size fish eat the dead skin off your feet. The experience was excruciating ticklish.

1 month in Italy to see the historical sites and eat great food. That trip included Rome, Pompeii, Florence, Pisa, Venice, Milan, Bolzano, Bologna and Turin. It was expensive but worth it because it was a long time desire for me to do.

Hard to pick one, but the ones that stand out start with an 11-week trip my wife and I took all over Europe two years after we got married and when were both within a year of finishing college. We rode the trains on student Eurail passes and got as far south as Basilicata in Southern Italy and as far north as Bergen Norway. Another one was a road trip that included Central Oregon, the Okanagan in BC (the Canadian wine country), the Icefields Parkway from Banff to Jasper and Glacier National Park. The Icefields Parkway was the most beautiful place we had ever been to until our Viking cruise from Bergen to the top of Europe (the Nordkapp), then back down the coast to Scotland, finishing with a night cruise up the River Thames to Greenwich. Geirangerfjord in Norway pushed the Icefields Parkway to number 2 on our list of most beautiful places. Another great vacation was last summer when we did a two-week Viking cruise from Barcelona to Venice, followed by a one-week Viking cruise from Basel to Amsterdam; 33 days total with pre- and post-cruise extensions that included 3 days at Lake Como. Then there was the one-month road trip around Italy that included the Italian lakes in Northern Italy and Tuscany. A special place for us is Kauai and we have been going there almost every year for the last 15 years (sometimes twice a year), most of the trips with some of our kids and grandkids. While we were raising our family, we had many great camping trips, mostly to Pinecrest, often more than once a summer. We’re not done traveling yet…………..
