Of course, I work in Oakland! I was even held up walking from Bart to the Kaiser building area. Other people have been beating on the streets right outside the office. Cars are routinely stolen or just stolen before our eyes. And the police don’t even come. But what makes me mad is they’re doing nothing about it and people just accept it. Society is in danger with this lacksness. No one seems to even get upset about it anymore.. They’re hooked on this equity-restorative justice- blah blah blah philosophy, which is not working for anyone. And the supporters don’t even see how it’s failing but just want to push it even further. Wake up folks! You might be next! Watch how you vote.

Restorative justice is working because it is reducing the the great humbug called “mass incarceration”!

Of course. Been paying taxes since I was 16.

Beyond that, I was held at gunpoint at my first full time job in 1998. Another manager and I were prepping the night deposit and had $6200 in cash on the counter. The guy put a revolver to my nose, told me to get down, then grabbed the money while fumbling nervously and fired a round into the ceiling. He also dropped $2000 running out the door. Never caught, and I never heard anything else about it.

Yes, I have witnessed so many crimes that they aren’t bother me when I see them happen on Bart, the streets of sf, grocery stores. The DAs have bigger fishes to fry so petty crimes are rampant. It is tough to be LEOs in CA.

I’ve seen bums more than once casually walk into a grocery store and walk straight out with food, bottles of wine…… without paying.
The real criminals now are the ones who commit the crimes, the progressive democrat government officials who support, enable and promote criminals and crime, and those who vote for the criminal loving democrat politicians.

Crime = DEM equity in action

All the time, and the Concord police is just too busy, and if you talk too fast they hang up on you while reporting a felony, and i’m thinking of letting the DOJ know about their lack of concern, and i have told them this..

I think police departments these day are completely and absolutely overwhelmed. Criminals are allowed to run wild and rampant in our communities. And, the criminals know it. It’s a free-for-all.
The Dems think like children. They think hardened, psychotic and career criminals will be good upstanding citizens, if they are just treated nice and given another chance. What’s the solution?

I chased a bike thief six blocks and caught him. Other than that I don’t think I have seen a real crime. Not one that remember anyway.

Several. The one that will always stick with me happened many years ago in Berkeley. While searching for a parking space we passed two guys beating up a woman. We swung around the block and they were still hitting her. Much to the chagrin of our girlfriends, my friend and I bailed out and broke it up.
They were long gone when the police showed up, and she went to the hospital. Nowadays helping someone that way will likely get you shot.

I worked at Record Factory in WC right after high school in the late 70s. One day a shoplifter snuck out with some cassette tapes. A coworker and I went out after him and he ran. We caught up with him 3 block down N Main St., trying to hide in another store. We found him, he gave up, we walked him back to the store, and he ended up leaving in the back seat of a WC PD cruiser. Two weeks later the manager handed me an envelope that contained a letter of thanks from the corporate office and a $25. check.
Nowadays here California, one will be immediacy fired for interfering with a criminal’s California right to rob, steal and plunder.

… witnessed many – rarely were the perps brought to arrest… most recently and seriously happened to me – check fraud 2x felony amounts.. banks had video both times… LE got involved but was very slow in response and investigation… in the end they said there wasn’t enough evidence to do anymore… (same woman, 2 close up videos at the banks, videos of her in the parking lot – couldn’t they read the plates or at least follow up on make, model, and color of the vehicle connected with the videos??)

Working as Aa Military Police Officer and then with the Alameda County Deputy Sheriff’s Department I guess you can say I’ve seen a few and much of the aftermath of them.
