It’s not often that a commercial construction project wraps up almost as quickly as it begins—but that seems to be the case with the new Chick-fil-A on Diamond Blvd. in Concord, California. Barely a month into construction, the building is already taking form, with crews working swiftly and efficiently to bring the popular fast-food chain to life. At this pace, locals can reasonably expect doors to open in another month—two at the most.
The speed of this build has not gone unnoticed by the community. Passersby and fans of the brand have expressed surprise—and delight—at how quickly the project is moving forward. In a time when supply chain disruptions and permitting delays often hold up progress, the Chick-fil-A site stands as a rare example of smooth execution.
One local joked, “Maybe this crew can finish the Dutch Bros. on Clayton Rd. while they’re at it.” That quip reflects the sentiment of many residents eagerly awaiting new business openings in the area.
Part of the project’s rapid timeline can be credited to the high level of coordination among contractors on site. Every stage—from grading and foundation pouring to framing and systems installation—has appeared seamless. One contributing factor has likely been the efficient work of experienced subcontractors, including a roofing contractor who helped ensure the structure was sealed and weather-tight ahead of recent seasonal rains.
While Chick-fil-A continues to be a polarizing name for some, its presence in Concord signals economic momentum and increased commercial activity in the Diamond Blvd. corridor. Once open, the restaurant is expected to draw significant traffic, offering residents and commuters another popular dining option.
As for the Dutch Bros. on Clayton Road—only time will tell if it can match the Chick-fil-A crew’s remarkable pace. Until then, Concord residents can enjoy watching a textbook case of fast, effective commercial construction in action.

Get ready for fun traffic time at Diamond Blvd. people love their chicken sammiches.

Lol. So white people live in ghettoes too?
Must be them ghettoes like Blackhawk. SMH
FYI, demographics for Chick-Fil-A customers is overwhelmingly white, almost 60%. Then it’s about 16% black, 16% Hispanic, and 6% Asian.
looks finished now, just paint it Barn Red and open the doors….
🙂
Feathered fowl are alarmed at the speedy progress.
This must be A company owned unit not a Franchisee (Do they have any?)
Traffic armegeddon in 3..2…1
Nice. Can’t wait. Must be union members on the job knocking it out quick.
They need to send these workers to the Dutch Bros construction site on Clayton RD. Swear it’s been under construction for 3 years now
The Dutch Bros is stalled because new construction cannot have natural gas installed, only electric, thanks to this f’ed up State. There’s a year long backlog with PG&E to install the approriate electrical in new commercial buildings.
Come on Mayor, it was a good joke. 😝
After that lame headline any joke is a good joke…..
