The heat wave pummeling the Bay Area has peaked and cooler temperatures are expected Sunday, though still well above normal, the National Weather Service said.
Temperatures five to 10 degrees cooler than Saturday are expected Sunday and the improvement is expected to continue through Tuesday.
Sunday temperatures will still be well above average for inland areas, with moderate to major heat risk, especially at higher elevations, the weather service said.
Thank you Claycord for this update.
I have lost faith in the weather reporting on the internet. Each day they were way off in the predicted temperatures..( you could see them update their site every hour to the true figures out there ) gee…I could do that! I think weather reporting is not such a exact science anymore.
TV news (KTVU< ABC7) says we'll be at or over 100 through next week again out here in ClayCord Country unfortunately.
As usual, the weatherman is incorrect, it is 102 on my front deck, and it about 5 pm.
I’ll step outside and see if it is 76 degrees at 6 PM. There are supposedly at least 3 weather stations in Martinez, one at each post office. 76 is what the one closest to me says but I have my doubts. This neighborhood has about 4 microclimates. And this morning we had the first power outage for about hour or so.
As usual, the government employees aren’t doing anything to bring temperatures down. What do we pay them for? … Sorry, I saw one post that didn’t include somebody complaining about public employees and knew immediately that I needed to do something about it! Now get off my lawn.
